Saturdays…no drilling after 3pm.
Monday-Friday…9-5pm.

When I feedback to HDB, the officer said to call the police :slapshead:
I thought someone from HDB who is in charge of anything happening inside the flat should remind the owner or construction company drilling is not allowed after a certain time...did not do that at all.
Think you can check what is written on the permit outside the flat...you are talking about home reno, right?

Nothing exceptionally cool abt joining SPF, and nothing unglam either. If they could offer your son or daughter an overseas scholarship to an ivy league or prestigious university, why not? At least you're assured that your kid isn't going to be running after thieves and robbers after graduation. Besides, they can go on to pursue another part-time law degree:) However, they will not be called to the bar while serving in SPF.

Btw, overseas scholars can receive special \"awards\" that enable them to be appointed to a position in the civil service that is relevant to their discipline of study, aptitude and interests upon graduation. Outstanding scholars with the aptitude for policy work and general management may be appointed to the Admin Service after a few years on the job.

If I'm not wrong, some awardees also end up working for MOE, Legal Service Commission or the Foreign Service.

I know a few SPF overseas scholars (admin service) formerly inspectors now superintendents or higher (Oxford, Cambridge, Chicago). All doing very well.

Nowadays we see construction sites using dummies dressed up as construction workers waving flags. It's quite effective, although it scared the wits out of me one night when I passed one of these dummies and my headlights shone on its plastic face :yikes:

Now that we are on this, is Saturday the official road work day? Encountered so many lane closure last Sat... :gloomy:

Haha. Like when people loiter on the overhead bridge and all cars will slow down when nearing the bridge only to speed up when they are nearer and most probably cursing at the idiot on the bridge.
