Usually, KLM/Air France is cheapest if you book earlier during promotional periods. Of Course KLM will be direct.. Anyway, I am not sure how it works, I managed to buy my open jaw ticket to Oslo via Paris and returning from Trondheim via Amsterdam for $1100 which was pretty cheap.. I got 2 free stopovers!

Also, if your holiday destination is some ulu place where no one else wanna go, you may still see some promotion price.
