any turtle soup lovers here?

I loved turtle soup but hardly eat them these days as there is none near my home and workplace.

Personal favourite stall is Havelock Turtle Soup, :love: located at a small and out of way hawker centre near Tiong Bahru Plaza.

Very flavourful. My father likes it so much that he always makes a trip to Toa Payoh even though he doesnโ€™t stay anywhere near the place.


Itโ€™s the same hawker centre that sells mixed vegetable rice at $2.20 for 2 vegetables + 2 meat dishes.

So far the most expensive turtle soup I have come across.


I think Jalan Besar hawker center is a good choice. There are no less than 3 or 4 stalls selling turtle soup. You can try all and determine which is your favourite.

Just to OT a bit, I have heard stories that eating turtle soup will give you bad luck. Someone shared her story about going bankrupt etc and made a comeback after swearing off turtle soup. I normally order the turtle soup with eggs. Yum yum! They have other herbal soups and dishes also. Another nice dish I like is their stewed crocodile meat.

Tankee, I asked the SS ppl, they'll kill & wash the turtle for us. I also asked my uncle who used to work as a chef in 5* hotels overseas (retired already). He said that just rub with salt and herbs will get rid of the smell. Then just boil (he gave long instructions which I can't rmb) the soup with the turtle meat.

OMG! Thinking about this make me very hungry. I'm going to get hb to bring me to get turtle soup tomorrow during lunch! I CAN'T WAIT!

There is also ๅฑฑ็‘žไน‹ๅฎถ(House of Turtle). They have other dishes besides turtle soup and herbal soup so good for those whose family members donโ€™t take herbal soups. Got other alternatives

I like that they top up the soup FOC. Well most turtle soup places do that.
