Post-contest Review of Kit Chan...

周华健有一首歌唱道“有没有那么一首歌，会让你突然想起我”。当陈洁仪出现在《我是歌手》第三季时，有没有一首歌会让大家想起她呢，答案是“没有”。陈洁仪在90年代刚刚进入大陆音像市场时，偏冷门，是属于逼格较高的那一拨歌迷的谈资与偏爱之一，陈洁仪就像滚石唱片旗下的李度，叫好而不叫座，好听而不易流行和传唱，没太多人记得她们名字。

　　很遗憾，1994年陈洁仪和郭峰合唱过一首《心会跟爱一起走》，这歌红过一阵子，至今还是KTV怀旧曲目之一，但是大家只记得郭峰，不记得合唱的女歌手是谁。之后，这首歌也没收入陈洁仪的原创专辑，唱片公司也没继续跟进，再出一些类似脍炙人口的情歌，在大陆市场的人气白白地溜走了。

陈洁仪经典《别让我恨你》

　　1999年笔者买她的《别让我恨你》专辑，是为了在校园广播站做节目，不然也不会记住这个歌手，且一听就喜欢上了。

　　唱一首歌吃一辈子很难，但是在中国，如果你没有一首被大家记得住的代表作，就宣判了歌手没红过。大家可能早就厌倦了臧天朔《朋友》、尹相杰《纤夫的爱》、火风《大花轿》、黄鹤翔《九妹》，杨臣刚《老鼠爱大米》、庞龙《两只蝴蝶》这些人和这些歌，但是他们凭一首就红了，占据着大家的回忆排行榜，在广袤中国的二三线城市，无论跑场走穴还是参加活动，数十年如一日，他们只唱一首皱巴巴的老歌，都能混下去。　　上面那些歌被长途汽车喇叭、火车广播、客运站广播、地摊音像市场劣质音箱强行重复播放，而家喻户晓。女王范儿的陈洁仪就是差一首让人记得住歌，台湾唱片公司历来重视歌手与专辑的“芭乐”(Ballad)特色，陈洁仪的音乐有点高冷，像是为文艺青年订制，不够芭乐热闹通俗晓畅。老百姓对娱乐明星历来喜新厌旧，如果记不住你的名字，就要让他记住你的歌。

　　谁也不想唱一首歌养活一辈子，走江湖卖唱一样到处跑场过日子，谁也想成为年年发片的大明星，到处开大型演唱会，可是整个大陆流行音乐的生态就是这样的草台雏形，很多人民群众只具备这个欣赏水平，不要求歌手多么大雅、多有文化，只求好听好唱，朗朗上口。比如多数老百姓只会记得林依轮的《爱情鸟》，但不知道他当主持人也不错，还唱过拉丁风格的音乐、甚至出过美声流行唱片。

　　别以为今天国民的逼格多高，超过了火风、尹相杰那个年代，今天很多普通观众对唱功的理解，仍然是谁能飚高音，带来全场高潮喝彩，喜欢表演型的歌手，而不是谁的声音最有感情能量，质感温厚，安静内敛，最会在歌曲李讲故事。显然陈洁仪是后者，她也意识到了这个问题，自己说，她的唱法不适合比赛，但她不会去改变和迁就，依然唱自己的一贯风格。

陈洁仪最经典歌曲《心动》+《心痛》

　　在《我是歌手》第一场竞演中，很多歌手都会唱自己代表作，特别是陈洁仪这种老将，像韩红唱了自己的代表作《天亮了》。陈洁仪的开场曲《心动》原唱是林晓培，出自于自己的翻唱专辑，第二场竞演中《心如刀割》，则像是给曾经的恩公张学友致敬。就凭这两首歌，观众无法给陈洁仪一个鲜明的形象定义和情感寄托，歌与人都那么模糊，转念之间就把她推出去淘汰了。

　　张惠妹和陈洁仪年龄相近，都是实力派唱将，几乎一前一后在台湾出道，陈洁仪来台湾签的是立得唱片，属于小公司，包装策划意识都显一般，连出几张都反响不大。但是签约丰华唱片(台湾第二大唱片公司飞碟唱片转型后的心公司)的张惠妹，一开始就定位精准，第一张专辑《姐妹》大红大紫，里面的《姐妹》《原来你什么都不要》《解脱》等歌曲，至今留有余味。

　　等到陈洁仪在立得唱片被迫兼并，大梦初醒地签约新公司上华时，世道变了，张惠妹已经是天后，她还像初初出道的新人。如果当初陈洁仪赴台要是签的滚石、上华、华纳、福茂、百代这些大公司，结果会怎么样？也许就像辛晓琪、张惠妹、许茹芸、许美静一样被大众认识和传播了。至少会有一首能唱响华人圈的“芭乐”曲目，在当下节目里带来怀旧潮。

　　《我是歌手》的舞台上和陈洁仪近似的是黄绮珊和彭佳慧，但是也有不 同，黄绮珊有国人最喜欢的所谓穿云裂帛的高音，彭佳慧有一首《相见恨晚》被人记 住，柔肠百结的唱法，也更为大众化，即兴飙高音也没问题。陈洁仪一来没有一首可以吃一辈子的代表曲目，不被大陆观众熟知，二来娓娓而来和风细雨的唱法，不被多数人欣赏，上这种节目劣势很明显。

　　一个有才华有才情的人，红不红不是自己能安排的，运气、机遇、贵人缺一不可，何况红不红，怎么红，其实也没有定论。还是喜欢已有岁月痕迹的陈洁 仪，那份只属于少数人的安静与舒展，谈论她的音乐就像谈论某个新出的歌手，与其说我们在谈论音乐，不如说是谢谢少年时代能在音像店里撞到她的专辑，买下 来，并记住了。在我心中，还是有那么一首歌会让我想起陈洁仪。

More than you can imagine.

Many are those still waiting to be discovered because they are denied of the chance to showcase themselves due to poverty and lack of exposure to the media. In China, only money talks. 有钱好办事...hence many talented people remain anonymous, especially those from rural areas and the 少数民族。

After watching China Got Talent and Chinese Idol shows, I am so blown away by the hoards of performers with exceptional talents. I am glad that these shows have provided a great platform and opportunity to the unfortunate ones to showcase their talents. If you have watched the shows almost everyone is a winner, even those eliminated ones during the auditions. The judges did not have an easy task picking the most deserving ones. To be chosen, you have to be better than the best.

If these rejects were to take part in Singapore, they will be crowned and win hands down. 😂

She looks so regal in her gown and her body language is perfect. She was so consumed with her singing and her voice and emotions really touched the audience, and that’s the crux. A successful singer uses his/her voice to touch the audience. Śtage presence, external looks and costumes are secondary.


However, I think she has little chance competing with the heavy weights like 韩红 and 孙楠. These two are China’s triumph cards. They are the 实力派歌手 and their talents are undeniable. They themselves know it. Having watched these singing competition and talent shows hosted by China, I have come to terms that the Chinese play to win. 韩红 said “我玩得起所以我来”.

Top Chinese stars and singers tend to be arrogant and disregard others who do not measure up to them. They may have the talent but they lack humility. Of course not all are like that. One of them is 胡彦斌, a young and very promising singer/song writer and producer from Shanghai. He took part in 2013 全能歌手比赛 and I was so impressed by his versatility and humility. He beat 孙楠 who was arrogant and pompous at first and ended up eating humble pie. 胡彦斌 çlinched the award. To me, he deserved to win not just because of his singing talent but because he had made himself likeable with the audience and his attitude. He did not throw his weight around and put on airs but remained humble and learnt from the senior stars. 他懂什么是谦卑. On stage, you may be a super star but off stage, you are just another regular guy walking on the streets.

One thing about these China production shows, a lot of things are being played up and very wayang. Also, the panel of judges are mainly made up of the PRCs, so the results tend to be rather biased. The foreign competitors have little or no chance to get far into the competitions.

So yes, Kit Chan may probably fight a losing battle right from the beginning.

BTW, they did not even get her name right in the opening of the song. They wrote her name as 李洁仪 instead of 陈洁仪.

1. 韩红 - Fantastic vocals. Varied range (explosive>passionate>candy-sweet>masculine) - can sing PLA military anthems, Tibetan/Xinjiang folk songs, as well as contemporary pop. Highly versatile.

2. 张靓颖 - Unlike seaglass, I super like this #1 performance..THUMBS UP! I got goose bumps!

It's been 10 years since she returned to Hunan TV (she was 2nd runner up in 超级女声，but she was the prettiest of the top 3 in 2005）and boy! she can hit the high octaves like Mariah Carey. No wonder she's crowned 海豚公主！

3. 孙楠 - Great voice 有磁性, but I like this performance. The Beethoven's fifth in the beginning & ending is ok la...:) This song brings out the best in him; better than his performance of《武媚娘传奇》theme song. He sang well for 神话 & \"I Believe\".

4. 陈洁仪- She was voted top 3 by the other 6 contestants. However, because she left the industry to work for Hill & Knowlton for a few years, the Chinese audience isn't too familiar with her face (no advert deals) & voice. Even before she went on hiatus, she wasn't very famous in China. Only in HK when she performed in 《雪狼湖》. We are biased because she sang our fav \"Home\". If you ask the 42yo to sing other types of songs, she might not fare as well due to lack of practice and exposure (regular live concerts). Her recent album was a compilation of covers -- a disappointment to me...

5. A-Lin 黄丽玲- She is an indigenous TW who sings as well as A-Mei. I'll roughly place her in the same group as pp like Beyonce, Christina Aguilera...Didn't think her performance was that impressive! But I was smitten by her great looks!

6. 古巨基 - He sang in Cantonese...but I've always liked his songs and voice...natural crooner, but not outstanding in #1 performance. Maybe too used to listening to Cantopop, so didn't give me goose bumps.

7. 胡彦斌 - Not very impressive. Flat notes at some point...Picked the wrong song la. He is like the younger version of Sky Wu.

Agree with Labbit; I enjoyed her performance too!
Her choice of song is just not showy enough for this.

Anyway, if i were the judge.. 🆒

1. 韩红 - Amazing talent.. Not sure whether she was totally \"all out to win\", but she really knows how to choose a good song for this competition.. very 赚人热泪..

2. A-Lin - Didn't know this singer well, but thought her performance here was very impressive. Love the song too; very cool.. 🙂

3. 陈洁仪- 很细腻却又自然的情感流露。。 温柔的思念里有着淡淡的伤感。。好好听。。 越听越好听。。 :please:

4. 孙楠 - Great voice, but didn't like this performance. 感觉太超过 hee.. 少了些含蓄，少了点韵味。。and what's with the beethoven's fifth in the beginning & ending? 不搭调耶。。 :scratchhead: :scratchhead:

韩红is in a position to be ba1 bai3 cos she is 国宝级歌手 (contemporary & folk)，alongside 孙楠、刘欢...Not sure if she's Tibetan, but she was born there. Tibetans and some ethnic minorities in Yunnan and Guangxi certainly have very powerful and high-piercing vocals (diaphragm)!! She currently holds a senior position in the PLA (Dy Head, Cultural Troupe Air Force).

Talking about tibetan, I have one cd by a faceless tibetan lady named 卓嘎.
