Nus law school's tea session was held on 14 May. Total intake around 250 including graduate students, shortlisted from 800+ and out of 3000 applications. Heard this year's batch is very different, mainly from international schools and IB students.

Mainly from international schools and IB students, or more from those groups compared to previous years? I can't imagine that the majority of the intake is from international schools and IB students over A level students.

Son did not go NUS tea as he belong to 2018 batch n oso need to book in camp that evening

SMU has already given out the offer (Application to study Law) and conducted a tea session on 7th May 2016. During the session, the professor mentioned that 15% of the applicants was offered a place to study law. Total intake is 180 places. These numbers include those currently serving NS and will be 2018 intake. They need to reply before 1st Jun 2016 to indicate their choices. So, I suspect your son could be on the waiting list.

Though SMU may be quick to arrange interviews n tests on 16 Apr with few weeks in advance notice
But now seemed like some of the NS guys are kept in suspense with neither an offer nor reject
Maybe because they will be the 2018 intake? So priority is given to this year intake ?
Just spoken to a neighbour her son just enlisted Apr so will be same 2018 intake pending too
However, NUS though went for reschedule interview n test on 7 May n within 4 working day make an offer
I was told by NUS admission that they waited till closing date on 1 Apr then only they start to shortlist the candidates for interview n test thus they can only inform with a short notice

Anyone else still waiting for uni offer? Esp those currently serving NS n will be 2018 intake
Be it NUS, SMU or NTU?

Its not unwarranted. At least for NTU, we're seeing lots of new buildings going up. The new LKC medicine building, the learning hub or dim sum building and the new overhaul of the north spine. Someone has to foot the bill.

And the changes always only kick in with new students only. The older students dont see an increase(because they wont get to enjoy the new buildings at all or for long).

Even with all the new buildings and facilities, I really do hold my reservations as to the effective use of them and it's direct relationship that has with providing a high quality Uni education to its students to warrant an increase in fees every year. To me it kinda is just like a branding thing for the Uni just that the cost to the institution is subsidised by the students 😓 well that's just my opinion though

The nus website already show the interview date 16 Apr n test date on 17 Apr so whether email or snail mail the issue now is whether can they reschedule another interview ?
SMU at least notified the shortlisted candidates few weeks in advance
