Yah, think they are more careful these days. Scoot's deplaned their SIN-PER passengers twice on Sat. Earlier, Scoot HKG-SIN was also delayed due to tech fault. Better be safe than sorry.

I hope the angry customers of Scoot can look from a positive angle that the airlines did not compromise on their safety.

I applaud the airlines so far who have taken the safety first attitude.


However, hopefully the technicians can work at the faults more meticulously as frequent flight delay is another way of losing passengers' confidence in an airline.

So far the two cases of SQ pilots being able to respond to the crisis while in the air is what I really :salute: them for... great courage to remain calm and make good decisions.

Just make the emergency landings and delay the flights if they feel uncomfortable..we are fine. On one of our latest trips, there have been delay and delay of our flight..not only our family don't mind it. Heard a few passengers talking in the queue, saying the same thing and with a smiling face. Safety is more important 😂

Re note to yourself....If you are writing as a pilot on a plane...at least you are in control. But if you are writing as a passenger then I say u are a brave traveller.
Unfortunately, I sit at the back like everyone else and not up front in the cockpit.

The 2 cases are different. AF447 is due to crew error arising from inconsistent reading of airspeed. Engine on that plane didn't flame out and continued running until the crew brought it to a stall.

Indeed scary to read this. Read someone heard it reported on the radio that it dropped 13,000 feet

If this is due to the icing problem...why is it still not fixed yet? This is not the first time.....thank goodness we have very steady pilots to brave through this without panic... 2 engines down.... :yikes:

But Airbus??
Airbus, Boeing or other make isn't the problem. Case of wrong place, wrong time and shit happens. The other famous case of all engines (4 of them!) flaming out (British Airways flight 9) is made by Boeing (B747).

As an aircraft is made of mechanical and electronic parts, it's a situation that is not avoidable. Tough luck if shit happens but pilots are generally trained to deal with 1, 2 or multiple engine failures. Flight sim often simulates past incidents to allow pilots some practice in dealing with them.

Note to self: writing about air incidents from within an aircraft isn't always the most comforting to do :rotflmao:

1. SIA stepped up their refresher course to ensure pilots remain calm and steady when engine went off due to the tragedies that happened recently or

2. The pilots themselves diligently ensure they know the process and executed confidently due to lessons learnt from recent accidents or

3. The pilots on this flight are just exceptional people who can do crisis mgt
