Besides working, balancing work life balance & managing my kids, I am also a part time soothsayer. πŸ˜‰

So, Muffins, how do you control your fear when you are on stage?

I'm okay when I sing with a crowd, I feel there are friends all over. But for individual stage presence like story telling, debating, I usually sweep my vision in random looking at everything yet nothing. I tend to burst out laughing when I'm nervous :siao: so, I will always avoid looking at familiar faces.

However, I don't have stage fright when performing (not singing, of course!) or when speaking in front of many people. Neither does sashimi so I guess DD1 \"inherited\" that from us cos she seems to handle her stage experiences very well (confident, no sign of nervousness, etc) even though she tells us later that she was nervous.

Been singing in formal and informal gathering since 6 as the lead singer (something like choir). Well, all the way to JC. Do I feel shy? Nope. I dont feel shy in front of friends or strangers.


But a big NO NO if I am ask to sing in front of people I love or care. So, my parents, boyfriend (at that time) or husband never got to see or hear me sing.

Funny thing is, recently my boy was selected to participate in singing competiton in school (it’s just for fun type done in 2nd language class). I was surprise that my boy actually wants me to hear him sing and help him out. It feels so nice to be able to be part of my child activity. But but…this boy was so kan cheong, he sings in the toilet, in the car, while I was typing away, while I was cooking, for weeks daily, for a very long time until the competition is over.

Totally glad when the singing competition is over.
