I called Shing Lee today and got an answer, if anyone else is interested. They say that the ebook can be downloaded to a max. of 3 devices, not necessarily owned by the same person. So we can pass the product key on along with the book.

This is the only one I've come across so far for sec school. I don't think it's the norm for Pr and Sec textbooks. I have heard that there are some for A level. There are certainly ebook textbooks for higher levels.
