2012 score didn't tally with the lower tier IP schools COP (252)??? I am not sure if 249 is correct or there wasn't sufficient space to accommodate all IP students in that year?
Not everyone eligible wishes to be in IP, in fact, I know plenty that do not(perhaps my friend's sister for example). Also, many schools do not accept people below 250 for IP from what I have heard, so perhaps they decided to make the classes smaller for that year(heard that ip class sizes are not exactly fixed, at least sngs doesn't)

My neighbour's DD scored 247+2 in 2013 and COP was 251 that year for RVHS. She had a good CCA record in primary school and hence was offered a place after she appealed.

Not all but most of them are offered 3rd lang since most IP principals will state their criteria for IP as the top 10% in the cohort during Open House. But they do exercise some flexibility such as accepting some pupils from appeal cases if the pupils have talents to offer or their t-scores are close to the COP, etc.

It is much easier if they indicate on the eligibility letter if one is qualified for IP. Save all the uncertainty & guess work as the score fluctuates from year to year.
Totally agree.
For those who are not eligible for IP but wish to appeal can still do so by putting the IP sch as first choice.

Similar for those who are offered EESIS where it is used to gauge the top3% to enter the top tier schools.


It was indicated that IP is offered to the top 10% of the cohort. So that’s the correlation.

According to earlier threads of KSP, aggregate of 249 in 2014 was offered 3rd language. That probably implies that 249 was the COP for top 10% in 2014. I did not check for 2013. Pls post the 2013 COP if you managed to find. I am also interested to know.

The Chinese paper was also not easy and my DD said many phrases she had not heard of before. Science is also very tricky.

That is why I believe the T-Score will widen again this year.
