1. Maybe 50 citizens (including his friends and relatives) thought that the AG has done a great job.
2. Some 33,000 teachers (excluding VPs, Ps and education partners) have their morale affected. Assuming the cost of the drop in morale (who could quantify such things! maybe if I upgrade and get a PHD?) is $1000, this highly competent and intelligent man just cost us $33 million!!!
3. Why can't the AG just drop a nice note to the PSD and ask them what is the policy on charging for parking? The silence from PSD is deafening. You mean they don't talk?!
4. But the politicians have yet to say their piece! Ah, let's see what the crème de la crème can come out with.

GRLs are NOT paid workers like teachers, but are social volunteers of sorts. They act as catalysts to promote community bonding within the RC, meaning they MOVE around the precinct. If they don't live in a HDB flat, they only get concessionary rates.

As a former teacher, I find the notion of charging for carpark space in a school compound totally disgusting. The AGO may be right to make the observation. The moe may be right to look into it, to be politically correct. If the minister of education were to decide to charge, then I would say they are prostituting the teaching profession - to even charge for govt school carpark. The amount is not big but it is the thought that count. The schools are not in prime commercial real estate. What price are we talking about? Nothing wrong even if the costing comes out to $2 per month. But it is the notion of charging that stinks to high heavens.

How do you justify that as a common need because earlier in your posts you said MOE sees not need to encourage driving ?

If I were to decide, then, parking should not be free at all. (bcoz driving shd be discouraged due to limited road space)

But if the sch choose to offer privilege to all staff and cite \"common need\" as justification, it's their choice. Whether to accept \"common need\" as valid reason for free parking, that would depend on MOE.
