I am not stressed because what I can only do for my girls is to provide the resources for them to prepare well for what they are facing.

We will do on the post-mortem on what went wrong when they get their results and work on what went wrong and that's it.

If I am stressed and get some unwanted stuff in the process just because I am kiasu over results e.g. hypertension,that will really be unwise of me.

My nature and DH's is rather laidback like what some kakis have noticed here because it is just us or in DH's case is that he grew up in Australia with a laid back mentality and as you know...Australians are quite laidback.

That's why DH and I kept stressing to our girls that as long as they did their best in whatever they do be it in their academics or other things,we will not blame them even if they failed or did not do well.

If they have failed or did not do well,there is always another chance to make amends.One case of failure does not wreck a whole career.Grades are not everything but what is important is how their characters' develop over the growing up years.

We do not want our girls to grow up soft and weak but teach them to be resilient and not give up in whatever difficulties they face in life.

i am a SAHM and i find my KPI linked to daughter's results.
academic results take priority over love for learning. daughter dislikes geography and history but does she have a choice?

Don't be overly stressed about it. All sec 1 students find humanities subjects new to them. So it is a level playing field at least. And they will slowly get the hang of those subjects.

I prefer the SG way of focussing on academic results. Love of learning is one part of the journey that yields optimal academic results.

i'm glad kids are done with primary school...what a relief!
simply stating keywords like what teachers always mention is simply insufficient. the answer provided must be phrased correctly.

i had a chat with the history teacher. the focus is to instil an understanding of history. it's the first time a teacher told me that grades are not important now, but the understanding to handle source based/structured question is. i was like, 'wow! one stress less.'
