For those with the purifier, do you close all windows when it is running?

We have had air purifier for many years as dd is asthmatic.

As she doesn't usually sleep in air conditioned room, the casement windows are left slightly open for ventilation purposes. She used to wake up coughing in the night when there were allergens but it has improved after we had the air purifier. I believe the air purifier still cleans the air, just that it is not as effective as when the windows are closed, in a confined area.

However, during the haze period, we do close the windows and on the air purifier (and air-con) in her bedroom for maximum protection.

Wait till closer and observe how it is first.

It may not be so necessary if everyone is out all day and family members do not fall under the vulnerable category. Just hide in some public areas on weekends.

It is pretty much a white elephant. Used like 3-5 times in 2 years.

Supposing the psi reaches hazardous level and air purifier is showing a dangerous 'red' alert, what can be done?

It's a waste of money if deployed in non-aircon classrooms and waste electricity too. hmm.. anyway, the vendor that got the deal muz be laughing the way to the bank.
don't see the point of having air purifiers in classrooms with no aircon.
what's the point? if the haze psi hits hazardous levels, how will the air purifier help?
