<![CDATA[Most berserk wrong number]]>what is the most berserk wrong number you have ever received?



Once, there were these IDD calls from China. A lady kept calling my mobile looking for her hubby that had came to Singapore to work. Apparently her hubby told her he had met someone else here and wanted a divorce.

Despite the repeated attempts I tried telling her that she had the wrong number, she kept insisting and mistaken me as her hubby and pleaded with me not to divorce her nor brush her off by pretending as someone else and crying over the phone.

To complicate matter further, I was supporting China office then and was making frequent trips there. The calls came when I was with my DW. Luckily my DW trusted me, else i would really :stupid: for nothing.

Not possible to be someone from my school because I was already out of school for 4 years and the kind of dialogue told my guts that he could not be anyone I had crossed path anywhere before. It was truly a bizarre wrong number. :siao:


I recall watching a documentary on MediaCorp on Romance .... one of the show was about this hubby got to know his wife by calling her on the phone and pretending to look for her brother ... then he \"chat\" her up, and eventually dated and happily married for many years.

this ABD may be trying to pull the same tactic :roll:

I got my current number 3 years ago. But on and off received some smses / calls from ladies. They claims that my current hp number is gave by a guy name Lawrence.

There was a case :

Woman A : Hello, thought you want to come over tonight?
Me : huh? go where? tonight? :shock:
Woman A : Where is Lawrence?
Me : What Lawrence, no such person.
Woman A : He is with me last night...
Me : then... ? :?
Woman A : So get him answer the phone. (sound angry)
Me : but no Lawrence here...
Woman A : Just get him answer the phone
I just hang up.. but then she still keep dial the number....

She called couple of times per day, but I never pick it up, as same house phone number appeared. Luckily no more after a week....

I asked my friend whom he was talking to as they sounded like very good friends.

Friend: Not anybody he knows.
Me: :? You meant not anybody you know?
Friend: It's not anybody he knows. It's a wrong number.
Me: :!: Why is he chatting with the caller?
Friend: He always does that. He'll tell the caller it's a wrong number at the end of the conversation.

There's another one but the one who got the wrong number is me. :stupid:

Iā€™m quite bad when it comes to this - very abrupt, with 3 words (sorry, wrong number) and hang up. If the same number comes ringing, Iā€™ll turn-off the call.


And I do not return calls that does not appear in name i.e. not in my phonebook. If itā€™s important enough, the caller will call back.

Lady: Aargh? what what? I cannot hearā€¦talk talk loud loud
Man (more groans) : I like you to play
Lady (silent and puzzled why man asked her to "pay")
Man : (continued with whispering): Do you like to "masterbed" (sounds like that)?
Lady (began to connect the word "pay" with the word "masterbed" and so answered : I do not want to buy any masterbed. I already got one already.
