Well, yes, they do us the sounds ch, sh, but also \"ai\" as in main or \"o_e\" as in hope.

They are heavily used by the private schools, here in England.

Try MPH online in Malaysia. They post books to me in England, at an incredibly low postage rate. I am sure you will get them cheaper as you live nearby in SG.

I used on both my kids. The pros are that they reinforce sight words. The cons show that pupils will not get how to sound Diaggraphs. Best to use in tandem with Jolly Phonics books.

When I was paying at the counter, I noticed that the system deducted only 10% so I told the cashier it should be on 20% discount. She checked with her supervisor next to her and honoured the 20% discount. Lucky they did that or I would not have bought the book.

I am definitely auntie.
just that some staff at some stores tend to be a bit lax compared to the others. Sometimes they are really busy, so they could have forgotten…for me if I am expecting an assessment book and left a message with one of the employees, I still would follow up after 1 week.

I have now concluded that there is now a vast difference in attitude among the outlets. At least I now know which outlet to head to if I want good service, including ordering books from suppliers and making transfers. 🙂 🙂

Yes, I agree Marine Parade outlet is good to excellent. They can pinpoint exactly where the book / assessment book is.

I have an opposite experience with Tampines outlet. Not only cannot tell me where the assessment guide book is but told me it was out of stock!! I was not convinced so went to look through the shelves myself and found it from a different part of the assessment section! Perhaps that particular staff is a part timer or inexperienced or simply bo chiap.
I can understand your frustrations. I have received really poor service as well, but from Kovan. Sigh. Imagine the amount of time wasted if we have to make another trip to a separate outlet, just because we got the wrong info!

the store at Lot 1 is great! there is a clear selection of humanities, science, math titles. there is this lady called Joon. she is very experienced with school titles.

I was at CCK today, and I thought I would drop by Lot 1 Popular. This lady that you mentioned - Joon - is very good! She is knowledgeable, and made recommendations of various assessment books. :rahrah:

Recently, I went to United Square to check on a school workbook. Was out of stock and did ask the staff to provide me the outlets having that particular book. She did but didn't know they can help transfer book over. So I will give satisfactory rating for united square since they never inform me this option.

Last year, I was repeatedly informed by the United Square staff that they will help me make a transfer of an assessment book. Or that they can place an order with the supplier, which I think might actually be faster.

But when I went back to United Square a few days later, they still had not gotten the book. This had happened a number of times. Now, I had completely gave up hope on United Square. I don't go back there anymore, even those I worked in Novena. :frustrated:

Delivery timeline is definitely much longer than Amazon. When I called to enquire, even staff reluctantly agree when I ask them that. But my experience is ordering story books not assessment books.
