If they do, the properties near a normal primary school may go up if the good secondary school is a hot one. Meanwhile, do self-enrichment when in primary school. In time to come, the normal primary school also will become not so normal... As for parents skewed towards good primary....come secondary, they will send their kids overseas. Demand to enter a good primary school (which covers the first 6 years of a 10 year education, i.e. majority) would be greater.

floppy

Reply to Way to GEP for a Normal Kid on Fri, 29 Apr 2016 06:59:27 GMT

AlphaOrca:

....
\"Every child, a good kid with a good future in whatever talent they have in them\".
............

fully agree about this.

jpe

Reply to Way to GEP for a Normal Kid on Fri, 29 Apr 2016 06:52:03 GMT

"Every school a good school"? Don’t be duped by the MOE. Instead, we should say "Every child, a good kid with a good future in whatever talent they have in them".

All these striving to get to top schools, top tertiary institutions, top honors and top jobs will one day kill our children. Look at Japan, Korea and many countries where they put so much emphasis on these things. Look at what they have achieve? They have high suicidal rates among their youth and graduates. A lot of the young people are feeling hopeless and have given up on themselves. Think these are just foreign news, wait till you find out what is the statistic here in SG.

Be kind to our children. They are not our instruments to a comfortable retirement.
