My husband loves to run and has the opposite problem from me - flat feet - and when he re-learned to run with a fore / mid foot strike his plantar problem also slowly went away. but it took time to relearn to run and to get used to the new gait. He couldn’t go straight to long distances. My son is an athlete and gets various pains occasionally. He visits a sports physiotherapist who has been working on correcting his gait and the way he uses his muscles (upper body, core, glutes etc). When he does his exercises properly (just 5 min a day) we find he is more balanced and doesn’t suffer from any pains. I think insoles don’t actually cure you - they just relieve the pain. Its better to strengthen the correct areas to relieve pressure on the plantar area.</p>
