When the researchers did the research, most likely they measured the drink's temperature before it is drunk, right? Not measured in the mouth when the drink is already mixed with air.

Our tongue tolerant is around 47 degrees, so majority of the people would not drink their hot beverages at 65 degrees.

if the beverage is hot and people force themselves to drink, they will burn their tongues and mouths.
