<![CDATA[How to calculate t-score for 3s1f]]>Apparently the school doesn’t know the computation of t score with foundation subjects and hence the past experience was told to give us an insight of what it could be. If your kids’ school vp knows the answer, please kindly share coz I think that’s a question that everyone wants to know.

Safer to clarify, confirm with your child's school, clarify with VP (Academic), or with Form Tr / subject Tr :-

- if a child take only 1 Foundation subject at PSLE, not take 2 Foundation subjects :
have there ever been any past case(s) in the school, whereby the child still manage to enter Express stream in Secondary schools after all, instead of channelled to Normal stream ?

- to ensure a higher chance of able to goto Express stream (Secondary), is it safer to stick to Standard Chinese, or \"forced\" to take Foundation Chinese ?

- find out from VP (Academic) :
How does your school compute T-score, if take one Foundation subject ?

(VP Academic should know, in case Form Tr or Chinese subject Tr : don't know)

My 3rd appeal for MT exemption was rejected...

MOE suggest that I might consider letting ds take foundation Chinese...

Any experienced parents can advice on how taking 3s1f can impact his PSLE score, Sec Sch enrolment and Sec Sch Chinese?

Would it benefit him more in taking foundation Chinese than continuing taking standard Chinese and scoring 20+/30+% consistently?
Have you tried speaking to your DS school? Based on past trends, are they able to advise? What is their recommendation or they just take cue from MOE?

The HOD in my kid's school said she once had a kid who did very well for her foundation subject. But when the t score came out, she was disappointed coz it was still below 200. So if take foundation subject, looks like it's confirmed to go normal acad at most.


sounds so scary....

if he continues with his current performance next year.... and considering the worst scenario for his PSLE.... he should be getting BAA...for EMS and then D or E for chinese.....

will taking foundation chinese affects the t-score that much?

sorry to hear about the failed appeal.
foundation chinese would be easier for your boy than taking standard chinese.
