If you are a Singapore citizen and going to Australia for holiday, you can apply ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) online. The cost is A$20. Once they approved your application, their approval will be in their database but it is better if you print their approval, just in case.

ETA is AUD20 and done online.

Most travel agents would be able to do it cheaper than that but you would have to visit in person with your passport. After approval, most will attached a print out to your passport as proof of work done.

Airline not interested if you have visa or not, because if you dont, you’ll have to come back if immigration denies you entry. If you hold Singapore passport, visa is surely granted unless you have a criminal record. If there is a problem with your passport, or the embassy need more details, they will invite you to the embassy to give more details.

They are very fast and efficient at the Aussie embassy.
