With a contract plan, basically one is paying for the price of the "discounted" phone over 24 months. <br /><br /><br />For eg a sim-only plan with no contract for around $21.50 for 3GB is half the price for a similar data-plan for 2 years. Savings over 2 years is substantial! <br /><br />Even with a sim-only plan, it’s possible to go on a Share Plan to share the 3GB data with another number (eg. for child) for addition of $8+ only. <br /><br />For under $30 (exclude caller ID costs) for 2 lines for 3GB data, it works out rather economical &amp; suffices for most users.</p>

Use the S8 for myself and my current phone for the company. My personal plan remain. <br />Upgrade my current plan to combo 3 plan and get the S8. Get a SIM only plan under my company and use with my current phone. <br /><br />In the end, just bought a SIM only plan for my company as DH said he has a spare iPhone that I can use. It also does not make sense for me to upgrade my plan at all as the new plans are not comparable. I do not have any issues with my current phone anyway.
