From the one side it looked very cute to see her sleeping hugging this blanket, from the other side I think it is not hygienic. Of cause I washed it every week, but the smell did not disappear. I had to throw it in the garbage while she was at grandma and purchased her a new knitted blanket from a nice uk store <span style="\&quot;color:"><span style="color:#000000"><a href="https://sommio.co.uk/KnittedWeightedBlanket">https://sommio.co.uk/KnittedWeightedBlanket</a></span></span>. When she returned home and realized that her favorite blanket was missing she had a real hysterical. She didn't even want to take her new one. He said it is part of family. This is his second one. He retired his first one (not without tears and sadness) into a container (now for display only) as it had torn a few times and fabric getting very thin. Now is to wait for his current one to "live out its lifespan" aka wear and tear.<br /><br />I think we should respect their sentimental possessions.</p>

This one very sentimental. It is a patchwork blanket that granma sewed herself. Each of her grankids have one. Intention was to eventually pass it on but I have 2 kids and only 1 blankie so I decided to keep it for myself. <img src="https://forum.kiasuparents.com/assets/plugins/nodebb-plugin-emoji/emoji/android/1f606.png?v=f4f27f6278e" class="not-responsive emoji emoji-android emoji--laughing" style="height:23px;width:auto;vertical-align:middle" title=":laughing:" alt="😆" /> <br /><br />Kiddos still have their favourite plushies that they hug to sleep. Had them since ds was 2 and dd 4yrs old. It will destroy their trust in you. They are not longer babies when their memories are short and their trust in you implicit.<br /><br /><br />Since their lives have been greatly disrupted recently, it’s best not do anything which upsets their security and stability. The time to throw those pillows away will be when they are very comfortable and secure, and you persuade them that they no longer need those pillows, or they are replaced with something else. The decision has to be theirs. And make sure whatever replaces the pillows is machine-washable and put through the machine every now and again so the smell doesn’t build up.</p>
