<![CDATA[High Tea]]>Hi,


Went to Royal Copenhagen located at Takashimaya for high tea 2day.

It consist of 2 scones, 2 open faced sandwiches, 2 cakes of your own choice and 2 cups of tea/coffee. If you are familiar with this place, their cakes really yummy. They serve the items in a tiered tray.

I used to go for high tea buffet alot when younger. My favourite were Parrots at the now demolished Marco Polo Hotel, the lounge at Marina Mandarin (served in a 3-tiered tray, refillable) and Cafe Vienna at Holiday Inn Hotel opposite Far East Plaza.

Any recommendations to share??? 😄

They have a wide spread and apparently, many people know about this. The whole place was bustling with people.


Priced at $39+++ (about $45.60 nett) per person.

Currently uob credit card holders enjoy one for one promotion. Ie $45.60 for two persons. Good deal for the quality and spread. Recommended if it's $45.60 for two.

Was a bit disappointed when I don't see my favourite dessert anymore 😢


Less variety, though they add in 2 serving station for dessert and lamb chop, etc.

Worth the $$$ and quality of food is definitely good. A good place for gathering and ladies to rest their feet after shopping :oops:

It cost $33 net after adding all the ++.

I have been to Carousel a few times.

Hi-Tea menu is stretch from lunch.

Food variety is good but not much cake variety, mostly nonya kueh from Mon-Thur. Hence, only advisable to go from Fri-Sun... More cake variety and worth for money. 😄

Of course if you want to enjoy a good pot of Tea/English Hi-Tea, I would strongly recommend Hyatt. 😉

I been to their hi tea years ago, find it so so only. Environment is nice but noise pollution is high.

My friend recommended Traders hotel hi tea, will try it out next time.

Always feel very stuffy after just a few bites.


I like the Equinox buffet and have been there several times (b/c DH has those Feed at Raffles vouchers 😉 ). Quality is pretty ok and view is great. There's a wide variety of food as well as tea leaves to choose from. It was even better before as they used to have cooked-to-order foie gras :drool:

yaya..it is very good IMO. My last visit was years ago and I hope they maintain their menu. Must book way way in advance cos always fully booked. I wonder how much do they charge now??

I lurve bread and butter pudding too! It's comfort food! So nice to dig into that buttery, toasty crust with soft custard and raisins in between. :love:

I lurve scones too, but these ones pictured are too lady-like leh. I like 'em stacked up with cream and jam, piping hot, straight from the oven. Wowzers. :drool:

No offence taken, Blobbi...I'm far from shopping queen. I shop for my work clothes like twice a year - once near CNY so now my new clothes all come out...else, you'd see me in the same blouse/suit that I'd worn since before I got married - this Nov, our 9th Anniversary liao (even DH says I low-maintanence in that respect).

My hi-maintanence bit is that I like to go to out-of-way places and spending time with him - like cova - and time is a very scarce commodity for us both 😉

We have certain things (medium term/long term) that we are working towards e.g., putting the kids through music school; or night training #2; how much we are saving or his travel plans etc (he travels quite a bit for work)...so on top of our weekly/bi-weekly dates, we have these pit-stops to put things into perspective.

My sis thinks that it's very \"official\" macam keeping tabs quarterly appraisal etc but sometimes, it's good to take stock of where we are on such things, else we miss the forest for the trees when concentrating too much on the here and now. 😐

Works for us, so yep! Cova's our go-to place.
