]]></description><link>https://forum.kiasuparents.com/topic/89458/mommy-huiwen-s-little-corner</link><generator>RSS for Node</generator><lastBuildDate>Sat, 25 Apr 2026 01:44:19 GMT</lastBuildDate><atom:link href="https://forum.kiasuparents.com/topic/89458.rss" rel="self" type="application/rss+xml"/><pubDate>Sun, 29 Oct 2017 17:26:09 GMT</pubDate><ttl>60</ttl><item><title><![CDATA[Reply to Mommy Huiwen&#x27;s Little Corner on Sun, 29 Oct 2017 04:15:06 GMT]]></title><description><![CDATA[<p dir="auto">ILs brought DDs out for some shopping before attending a wedding dinner tonight and flying back to Australia on Tuesday.<br /><br /><br />I am pleased to see that DDs enjoy the company of their paternal grandparents very much and interacting with them.DD2 even put extra effort in learning Chinese when my MIL coached both girls for a few days this week in Chinese.MIL taught them things like how to avoid their potential mistakes when writing CL2 essays and when doing Paper 2.<br /><br />As I was driving DDs to SPCA yesterday morning, I casually asked DD2 if she enjoyed Grandma teaching her Chinese,I sneaked a smile when I saw her face brightened up from the rear view mirror when she answered yes.DD2 actually said my way of teaching them Chinese was very different from her grandmother.<br /><br />I casually asked her again if she would like to move to Australia for the next 1 and half months to stay with her grandparents at their farm so that Grandma can improve her Chinese.DD2 actually said "can meh Mommy"? <br /><br />I told her both of us will not be there though…And you could see her deeply in thought haha.And I told her why not I export her to Australia so that she don’t need to study Chinese anymore and can look after Grandpa’s fruits/vegetables,sheep and chickens.<br /><br />DD2 pouted and said don’t want anymore because when asked for the reason,she cannot see both of us everyday.<br /><br />Seriously,I was thinking if this move could improve her Chinese,I could send both of them to stay with my ILs in Australia for the next 6 weeks to improve on their Chinese under my MIL’s tutelage and also learn to do some simple farm work like collecting eggs.<br /><br />Just giving this matter a thought and even if I wanted to,need to discuss with DH first.The girls are going for orientation in early Nov.<br /><br />I miss Australia and our younger days when me and DH will take a boat out to sea and catch some fresh seafood like fish,oysters,scallops,jumbo prawns and crayfish to cook by the beach.DH will dive down to pick up the crustaceans and shellfishes.<br /><br />Cooking by the beach in Australia with freshly caught ingredients is really a different experience from having a normal BBQ at ECP.</p>

]]></description><link>https://forum.kiasuparents.com/post/1811608</link><guid isPermaLink="true">https://forum.kiasuparents.com/post/1811608</guid><dc:creator><![CDATA[zac&#x27;s mum]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Thu, 26 Oct 2017 22:15:55 GMT</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Reply to Mommy Huiwen&#x27;s Little Corner on Thu, 26 Oct 2017 15:34:37 GMT]]></title><description><![CDATA[<p dir="auto">I was discussing with DH what we should do when I am in the last 3 months of my pregnancy from Jan to Mar <a href="http://2018.In" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">2018.In</a> the midst of our discussion,he went to Holland on his pillow and I am left to my thoughts.<br /><br /><br />By the time Jan 2018 comes around in 3 months time,I won’t be able to move as easily as what I am doing now.The girls will be studying in P5 in their new school.DH can fetch them up to school in the morning but he can’t fetch them back as often as he wanted as he was just promoted and have more responsibilities on his hands.He has to stay in camp more often and also wont be at home on some of the nights too.I will be left without a man at home sometimes too.Have to manage a sister,2 school going girls and 2 BBs.<br /><br />I was thinking if I could train the twins to take the bus or MRT to and from school everyday or ask their little aunt to pick them up after her classes in <a href="http://JC.It" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow ugc">JC.It</a> is nearly the end of Oct now and all the what ifs questions of their schooling like transport,first day of school,schooling life and academic matters come piling up and I get a headache trying to solve these problems.If the teacher wishes to see me,I may have to ask my MIL if she is here to meet with the teacher cos she is more familiar with these matters.If not,DH has to go.<br /><br />Felt excited for the girls but worry for them at the same time although they assured me that they could take care of each other when they go to school next year.Will they adapt to the SG curriculum,what kind of friends or teachers will they have,what kind of CCAs will they join etc?<br /><br />I reasoned within myself that if they could tackle the papers from top schools,they have as much of a chance of adapting to the curriculum in school next year.I should have all angles covered before we hit 2018.</p>

DD1 is in a girl school and does not do third language. Limited chance to interact with boys. She doesn’t seem keen either. She did say her seniors discuss about bgr though. I won’t stop if she find someone in JC. Just need to be sensible.
