Reason is bread/bun gets soggy if put together & left for hours before eating.

For origini, I just do the sushi rice as usual then put the ingredients into groove of rice on palm & wrap up into a flat triangle or round flat shape. Then I grease pan & coat a thin layer or miso. Pan fry.

Usually fillings I’ll put in cooked salmon or tuna meat with just a little pickled Japanese plum or veg (very small piece for flavour (I’m stingy here coz I don’t want kids to eat too much pickled veg long term. Just tiny bit for flavour inside & outside miso works well for my family.)

Hope abv helps. Adjust & create yr own for ur kids liking. Have fun.

With packed food, it saves time for kids to queue for food at sch canteen. Homemade food are always more nutritious as we mum's can use fresh ingredients. I'm sure they hv at least 15-20 min for brunch-break, besides recess time. They can come home for noodles & rices after school & CCAs.

Nice Estéema! Can share your recipe for homemade patty burger and Onigiri? I used to buy beef patty from Cold Storage and make the burger myself, or cooked Japanese rice to make simple avocado onigiri, but somehow I still feel the ones I made seem not to be as tasty as those I buy from outside stores/restaurants

mommyNg
