IP - A Level or IB, O Level is a question no one can answer on your behalf. You will have to explore the merits of each program and determine what’s best for the kid.

My girl got 258 and HC distinction. I stay around BP downtown line


Proposed choices
1) NYGS (COP 264)
2) NJC (COP 256)
3) RV (COP 250)

Is it safe to say my daughter can at least go to NJC? Or should I skip NYGS and put NJC as first choice? Thanks or any other suggestion
NJC or worst case RV should be safe, so no harm putting NYGH as first choice if you really want to try incase NYGH COP drop to 261 and you would still want to go to NYGH as first choice compared to NJC.

Aiyooooo, Punggol then don’t choose East side schools lah! No matter how badly u want a SAP school, forcing her to travel so far is just torture for your poor daughter!

230+3 is not close to NCHS COP. Would just be a waste of your option.

2. Mother Tongue @ School : Some schools does not have MT in the school so that needs to be done on Sat - this is a pain
3. 4 Years or 6 Years course : Does the school have JC partner? otherwise, in 4 years , she will have to go for year 5 exam again
4. Any other factors do other parents realized?
Hi is your daughter doing Tamil for her MT? There are 82 secondary schools which have Tamil lessons in-house. Some of them are boys schools though. Have a look at Page 92 of this link (Reference E): https://www.moe.gov.sg/docs/default-source/document/education/admissions/secondary-one-posting/2017-files/2017_S1_IB.pdf

You can narrow down further based on proximity to your house. There are some maps in the guide. Then look at each of your shortlisted schools to see whether it has a T score cut off point within your girl’s ability.
