Have also tried MILK Books, for its premium medium photo book and premium large photo album, price is not that low, but worth it, they are just gorgeous and luxurious. MILK always offers great deals every few months, I got mine with 60% off during black friday!

But I don't like to do physical scrapbooks because the glue/ clips/decorations don't last very well in our weather, unless you keep it in an airconditioned/low humidity room and use acid-free paper. Digital scrapbooking gets around that problem as you can still scan or take photos of maps/tickets to be included into the book. But personally I prefer a cleaner, more magazine style layout and just a few pages will be scrapbook style.

I used to keep scrapbooks, but stopped because we moved around so much. I don't bother with digital scrapbooking because I have no artistic talent or feel. I scan things which I would have put in the scrapbook in earlier years, like ticket stubs, bits of brochures etc. and interfile with my photos. Even photobooks take up space! My family is fine with looking at digital photos, but my mother isn't. So since I compiled this set of photos for my father's birthday, I intend to use them in a photobook for her. I don't think I'm going to do it often.

You have to think about your preferred layout so you can take a look at the photos you have at hand and decide how you would like to \"showcase\" them. Eg do you want to have full page photos, if so are the photos mostly landscape or portrait, do you prefer to have a border around them to frame them, do you want to add heading and text and if so, what is your style etc. Remember as well that the dimensions are sort of changed when you open the book up. The opened square book will become a long rectangle. (If you are intending to work across two pages.) To get a sense of the differences, you can go to the library or bookshop and flip through some photobooks.
Thanks! I decided on the landscape one. I doubt I'll use a full page photos as we don't have such nice ones! More like 2-3 on a page. Oh well, I'm not aiming for artistic excellence - just to let my mum have them in hard copy so she can look at them when she wants to. Now I have to remember to get it done by April (when the voucher expires!).

I usually just scan for discounts during sale period so I will read the specific write-up to find out if it is the discounted price is for 1 book, or if it is a 1-for-1 ie 2 copies of the exact same thing. They also have bulk discount pricing - I think it starts at 5 books (of the same design) and above.

Shipping cost is additional and usually hand delivered by courier.

I prefer to use my own layout but their software, so I use the online project option, but choose a blank book. Readybooks are already laid out in terms of photo sizing and positioning, sometimes some backgrounds as well. But I think you can edit at will even if you select a ready book.
