The schools do for students, albeit miserably minimal; workplace requires min Workmen Comp and/or Group Medical H&S as well as PA covers for eyees to mitigate high compensation costs. I do hope no one telling me they've absolutely no cover, sans the special NS50 considerations! I better go check what NSmen are coveted, but still wanna ensure we learn fr every accidents/incidents for safety & care of all men serving NS.

When a person works in a certain Ministry, there are a pre-determined notion on a person's work style based on what vocation you are in NS. This is a sad truth and this is real. Once I worked alongside with this Director, he once subtly said to me that \"those PES C guy cannot work, cannot depend on.\" When I heard that, being young then I had this notion. But as years go by, rendering my service.....I realized that this is a bias notion. I have personally seen it and felt it. PES C folks are in a way silently \"outcast\" in assigned training, projects, etc....which in a way will affect your promotion because you are not highly visible in some eyes.

That was why I teared with my older son when he was confirmed downgraded to PES C.

With this news, should I be elated that PES C is good for my Ist born? What about my 2nd born? :faint:

Aiya...who cares if you're PES C, unless you want to take one of SAF's top scholarships or sign on as a regular? No need to be so hard on yourself, though I know many active boys in sch sports teams/UGs really love to 'chiong sua'.

If you're not combat fit, you're not an outcast and can contribute to the country/army in other meaningful ways.

If you're a PES A, and don't want to be tekan for long, then make sure you study hard for A levels and perform well during BMT to get into OCS/SCS (and maybe RSAF), get SAFOS or into Med Sch to escape early.

(1) Where in private's posts did you see anything like \"if the accounts are true\"? Private was shooting off as if everything alleged was true.

If you are visually handicapped, I am reposting what private said \"If the case is true, tekan is real, these 5 animals are murderers!\"

(2) Are you also going on the premise \"if it is true\" there is a tekan culture \"prevalent\" in the Army? The accounts so far only talk about the posters' own specific units. Somewhere along the line, somebody decided to extrapolate it here to say it is prevalent in the whole Army.

It has been highlighted many times before that this is not the only account of tekan. There were many other posts that shared experiences of tekan over the years, including a very recent one that happened last year. Nobody needs to extrapolate anything here the cases speak for themselves

(3) In any case, tekan and heat injury are two separate issues: the connexion between the two is yet to be established. You (and private) jumped to the conclusion that it was a cause of death. You guys were not talking about eradicating any vestige of tekan. You were literally crying blue bloody murder before causation has even been established.

Please mind your words here. Where did I ever cry murder ? I do not care if you are visually handicapped or just plain dumb but I would not stand for unfounded accusations. This is what I said in response to private's post
