@MP, you can guess who is the champion, or total goals for each game, or even guess the exact score like Belgium to win 2-0 etc. I chose to play “guess the champion”. 😂 The returns also differ depending on when you place your bet as the odds fluctuate.

I find the Croatia’s goal keeper not as good as the South Korean handsome goalie. Croatia midfield was really very strong with good passing and able to read the French but alas, just cannot end in goals.

😂 , I guess if for every goal you need to wake your DH up, he will end up getting panda eyes.

DH and DD2 went out to catch the Final till 1am+.

I watched only the first half at home and felt that Croatia played well and had possession of the ball most of the time but they just couldn’t score. Either France defence was strong or Croatia didn’t have good enough strikers. Luck was also not on their side.

For $50 bet, I will be getting back $200, Hai Di Lao, here I come!! 😂

Yes I agree both teams played v well. I enjoyed the match a lot.
initially, i was thinking both so strong, maybe will end up doing penalty kicks
and i thought i will stop watching after 1st half ....
But the game just got more n more exciting n the rhythm was fast , hardly any boring interval.
PLUS , I am actually watching my ds who was watching using his laptop in his room - i want to stay awake n make sure he sleep after match ( he asked to let him watch as this is once in 4 yrs, both teams are good, all his frens in sch will be talking abt it so he doesn't want to be left out etc)
My dh watch &sleep - even more tiring, i woke him when there is a goal ... hahhahaha...

Croatia played v well, no luck though ... after the penalty kick by France, they must be damn stressed ! But they manage to score another goal to 2 ,which depicted their gd skills !
France just get stronger & stronger bcos all in high spirits with the lucky two earlier goals (so LUCKY, must be i went France last month n brought them Lady Luck 😆 :rotflmao: jk jk )

Why should you be surprised? They were lucky with their group / draw and lost out to the first decent team (not including the farce with Belgium) they have to play in this tournament.

Apart from being likable (not having too many Liverpool players helped 😂 ), this team is relatively lacking in talent and experience compared to many of the other teams, including Croatia (who is full of players who have played and won big games in their career). Most importantly, they lack a half decent no. 10, compared to France’s Mbappe, Belgium’s De Bruyne and Croatia’s Modric. You can’t rely on free kicks and set pieces all the time, at some point, you will have to take the game to your opponent.
