I just sent my 8 months Pino back. She was complaining of chest pains and requested to go back...Anyway, attitude not very good, at times rude too. So don’t bother to bring her for checks.

1 week later, I received a letter of demand from a moneylender. I totally freaked out. This is the second time. First time gave a story that she was duped by Sister to borrow. After which, sis go MIA. Took pity of her and also worry that moneylenders would harass our family(safety of the kids when we are working) so settle for her first and deduct from her pay. And we really thought she learnt her lesson.
I was a total loss when I saw this letter. Made a police report but to them, is for reporting purposes:(
Was told that we will have to talk to the moneylenders ourselves and informed them that maid had left. I don’t have to pay for them right? Anyone has any experience?

I heard of friends that faced the same problem and i think its extremely unfair for us employers to bear be responsible for it.

Sending my 8mth Myanmar helper back because she said she needed a vit n glucose jab to stay strong.

She said her body is weak now and she take the jab every 3 to 4mths. She said shes having 2 headaches every week… , stomach pain n joint pain.

Shes vvv stubborn. Whenever she makes mistakes she just say no not her or no mam never say…

Uses forget, i dunno to get away with things. Even after 5 mths with us, she still cannot remember what time sch bus arrives.

Worst tell lies, steal & drink my kid's unfinished milk. So, I attribute more of her lack of exposure. I'll explain it's not 'sayang' but she can take other food in the house I indicated for her. Bacteria will make her sakit & she'll need doc to get well.

my current Myanmar helper also like to steal food. I mean not only her, Indo helpers also but when they got caught, they will just apologise. For this Myanmar, she will tell lies to cover lies trying to get away, that made me really angry. Told her many times if want anything just open their mouth n ask. We never lack of food for her, always buy her tidbits and beverage such as coke etc since she like it. Told her many times that if do wrongly just apologise and dun make the same mistake again, rather than lies and lies and lies.

U'stang their culture & their lack of progress we can ustand & remark less they're stubborn & attribute more for their lack of edn & exposure.

may be that is the case for my Myanmar helper too, she just cannot follow our way of doing despite from day 1 till now tell her umpteen times that cannot keep the clothing when not dry thoroughly (our level of dry and hers are different I think), pot and pan, plates and bowls only dry then keep, often I take out bowls with lines of water, even my mixer got a pool of water, faint. There are many many small little things but add up will really blow us.

But again, this will happen to Myanmar helpers as well as Indo helpers cos I even got a Indo helper, cannot even crack a egg properly.

Most Myanmar maids cannot speak English and this is one of main reasons employers get frustrated. Agency said highest turnover is for their Myanmar maids.

According to maid agency, If one needs the maid just to help out with simple house work, then getting a Myanmar maid is ok. If you need a maid to help out with the housework and take care of your loved ones, most employers don’t have the patience to handle Myanmar maids. Take Indon or Filipino safer choice.

Then I think I am 1 of the patience employer cos my Myanmar helper started with really sucks English till today, as I mentioned before, not very good but can communicate most of the times and she now even know Mandarin.I do think they have flair in Language including Indo helpers. Cos my previous Indo helper with me for 4 yrs, from lousy English to not bad English and not bad Chinese.

My Myanmar helper like super kampong when 1st came, waste water waste electricity, no sense of hygiene, sucks at cleanness etc. But her attitude was good then especially can tahan old folks (cos my MIL is super naggy), and to me most importantly is good character and personality, the rest can be trained (although we vomited a lot of blood).

My household not only needs helper to do simple housework, she need to take care of my 6 yrs old boy. Although my Myanmar helper not really good at housework (we cannot be picky since they are really from kampong, generally farmer) but she is quite good at my son, cos she is also young kid (only 19! I only knew that after she worked for more than 6 months, she also told me her niece came to Spore to work when only 15 yrs old and worked for 4 yrs. Scary right? dunno how they do that, I thought Government has controlled age of 23) and she will play with my son, she even can help me to teach my son chinese spelling (I will need to teach her how to pronounce etc) when I am busy with work.

After have many years with Indo helpers, I decided to try out Myanmar due to the cost and also, I had a few Indo helpers back out last min on me either dun wan take care of young kids or dun wan work with elderly at home, even fresh maids also so picky!

With my new Mynmar helper, she attempts to communicate with me with her basic English. But I can imagine if I’m less frdly, less able to coach her & encourage her. Being 1st timer, she cld’ve felt very stress & lost.

Can’t generalize bcoz I find some Indo girls are similar - don’t speak much English, tell them so in one way next moment revert back her old pattern, misu’stood my instructions & don’t clarify. Esteema how are Myanmar helpers? I heard from some friends they are very blur..my first one was Filipino now this one Indonesian..
my first 2 were Indonesians. 3rd one Filipino but cannot speak English.
brother got one from Myanmar...resistant to learn English and nobody could communicate with her. a good friend also had one from Myanmar and she also couldn't communicate. it's not fair to say all of them are the same...it's all about luck.

yes, is all about luck cos my Myanmar helper from very very little English, till now although still not very good but mostly able to communicate + little Mandarin cos my MIL taught and spoke to her.
And she is blur, reluctant to change her pattern of work, forgetful etc. used to have good attitude but changed after a year until recently getting better cos I gave her a big scold, why wanna created troubles when going back home soon.

I always told DH, that FDW are into our household & private space, so have to be very careful. It's impt to hv and build peace & harmony within home environment. Trust then becomes absolutely impt when we take in someone fr external.

For us, it's hard to subject Indo who do not take pork meat to prepare our Chinese food prep with pork. Then the diff religious exposure. It's definitely hard for us to trust Pinos. We opted for Mynmar & even then only look out for Christian Mynmar girls & narrow done to those fr Chin State to be abit more secure. So far, it has worked out well for last 6 years.

I am looking for helper as well as my current ones' contract ending soon at Oct. I am thinking to employ Myanmar helper again. Although do not have good experiences on current Myanmar helper (but I also do not have many good experiences with other countries based on previous) so I guess is by luck as my friend's Myanmar helper is good. Can you advise what are the areas that we need to look at when employing Myanmar helper? and which Chinese state are more secure?

Yes. We had one fr Central Java, who stayed 6 years with us till we let her go reluctantly as her hubby left her & she missed her 2 children.

my first one was from central java...although she was single then, she looked after my new born so well. I stressed on hygiene and safety which she willingly complied. when she found out I love to eat opor ayam, she wrote to her mother to ask for the recipe. she is very thrifty. when she had to go back to get married, I had to get a replacement. the replacement was from lampung. when she found out, she told me not to employ her as girls from that place are rude...but getting one newbie would take 3-4 months. true enough, the lampung one is ill mannered. this one is lazy as well.

Eeee!!! This is so perverting! To think we let homes being perverted in this manner & children hv no power to say no.

That's why after we let our 乖 Indo maid return to her family after 6 years, we became wary with numerous horrible maids (those who stole, lie, etc) & DH and I decided to be extra careful since we're inviting a stranger home. Home is we're we need peace most & cannot hv distrust & emotional upheavals, esp with young kids.
