You wanna try taobao's cocoon silk quilt? I ever bought for my kids 3.5 kg weight when they went to UK to save a bomb (cocoon silk quilt sold in 'weight', the heavier the higher the price. For Spore weather, 3-4斤 (about 1.5 to 2 kg) is enough.

The summer quilt is cooling yet warm enough for air-con room (I bought for my nieces and nephews). For about SGD60, maybe worth a try (get from reputable store only else may end up with fake products).

for those of us staying in the west, there is Jem/Westgate/IMM, it's almost unnecessary to go to town.

Sporeans will not enjoy the GSS anymore as every retailers are duplicating outlets everywhere in town centres, there's no need to jostle all the way to Orchard Road.


Anyway, there's no such thingy as perpetual sale, unless one believes everything the retailers post up. Most times, I prefer shopping on my holidays in-btwn sightseeing to get unique items. Somehow, it's only on vacation does my eyes 'sparkle' over goodies that I normally hv no interest getting off home to shop.

We went to orchard to take a walk.

Parked at hereen. I went to take a look around robinsons from cosmetics level up to 4th floor.
I admit firstly I don’t need many things like cosmetics or dresses...so I went to household thinking of getting something fanciful for my new place. But everything I see are in the hundred range...there are big signboards stating ‘70% sale’. How come everything seems so expensive even with 70%?
Then I went to metro. The prices seem more reasonable...at least to me.

Wanted to get a queen quilt. But prices are in the hundred range. Can’t bring myself to pay $160 for a quilt. It’s costly even when I went to check out tangs.

I just bought 2 pillow protectors and a sieve to scoop up the dirt on the surface of the soup.

Oh dear, so many negative comments about SS! I do about half my grocery shopping at the SS nearest my home (commonwealth) and I don't have any issue with odour or price or quality. I guess I'm not as discerning. So far, the common items which both NTUC and SS carry seem the same to me in condition and price. Some fresh food items are cheaper at SS (because the NTUC's I go to are \"Finest\" due to convenience). The main things I definitely always buy at NTUC are brown rice, wholemeal bread and sliced pork because SS doesn't have equivalent items.

the sheng siong at commonwealth is ok according to my aunt who goes there for grocery marketing.
my mum buys the whole threadfin fish from ntuc sometimes when the offer is irresistible.
i buy brown rice at a provision shop in toa payoh lor 8...it's $9.20 compared to $10.2 at ntuc. we go there for dinner on days when i yearn for bbq stingray and orh luak.
