'Ear Hole Closed' - a ear-hole once pierced will never close. : lol : It is just blocked with calcium build-ups which is natural. You may use saline water to clear the blockage, unless it's left too long with harder deposits thenbuse apple cider vinegar or special medicated liquid.

Ear Piercing & Infection - It's OK for young girls wanna look nice & special with ear-studs. Only go to trusted goldsmith shops for ear-piercing unless u know shopping centre dress jewelry carries stainless steel ear-studs, with well-trained staff to do the piercing. They shld provide you with sufficient cleaning liquid to prevent septic infection.

Quak's Qualification :

I wanted ear-studs when young & joined the Isabella grp that used to provide ear-studs in major shopping centres. Training was given to us & we learnt to dis-infect our hands with every customer's ear-piercing. We position & mark out with a hypoallergenic marker, before applying the special, sure shoot gun to pierce the earlobe with a special thread adhered fr the gun. Customers were given a bottle each with instructions to wipe clean after shower & dry off for entire week before putting in their lovely, chosen pair of studs.

Never pierce on the same spot esp after sometime with calcium deposits. You get an awlful overlap. After 2 weeks, any pierced ear-holes wld still work for a lifetime.

Was exciting for a young girl bcoz aunties, grannies, etc were surprised their ear-hole still works! They thot its closed. So, the knowledge stayed with me till today.

Try Goldheart. My DDs got theirs done in Nov 2017 at Goldheart @Jurong Point by Joy. Their staff are trained and patient. Cost is $35 which includes 1 pair of surgical stainless steel stud earrings (choose from the design they have) to be worn up to max 3 months. Check out their white gold stud earrings if permissible to be worn to school.

DD got 2 sets of piercings by the time she was in Sec 1. However, because she is in sports CCA, she finds it a hassle putting on and removing the studs and somehow, she keeps losing those stick thingy so they have all healed over.

Anybody watched our local tv drama While We Were Young last night? “Mary” wore a pair of ear rings which looked like golden grapes.

The ear studs are 14k gold at about $90. Then add 2 small bottles of liquid med to apply twice daily for 6 wks at $18.80.
She needs to return a week later and at the end of 6th week for a review.

Usually the solution should come free. You can also go to Watson or Guardian and get the Surgical BP Spirit or something at only about $5 +/- ( I can't recall).. They are placed on the shelf together with the bandages.

What to do? Already paid

Piercing is free, you pay only for the earrings. My nieces recently did theirs at SK Jewellery at $88 for the simple studs.


I recently checked one at Bugis Junction, price range from $65-140.

Cheap ones at $5 from 77th Street type of shop also available.
