He must have planned (hatched) his back door emergency fire-escape exit route (road) meticulously in detail for quite some time already, by making sure he can open a parachute properly & jump (land) safely on board the next ship (Kimly), bound for the next destination (journey). Not fall into the open sea (deep, wide ocean)

How do you know unless you have met them in person? Without naming names, there are people who have bumped into some of them in public who disagree with your assessment as to who is humble and who is a pain.

My family was on a tour to OZ Gold Coast a year or 2 ago. Vivian was the tour celebrity and brought her family along (incl. both parents or in laws).

My impression of her was someone who is approachable, chatty, down to earth family person who does her job. Her hubby does not seem to be those boastful type as well.
Why impressed me most is their elder daughter. Very responsible gal (P4 or P5 then) who put effort to look after and take care of younger ones in the tour group. Her younger sis was there too and both were from Ai Tong. 1 of them might be currently doing the PSLE. I hope none are affected by the current event.

Probably, he already brillantly strategized what his emergency exit Plan B going to be. Had it all planned out when he executed Plan B : when to cross over, from Pokka into Kimly ?

Is like playing a board of chess game : if he make this move, what will happen ? If he make another different move, what will happen next ?

so he has already has Plan B in mind. no wonder they can afford such an expensive property.
if he is asked to resign, then there is some face-saving.
