My DD's school doesn't offer combined physics.
So, If she didn't get Physics, she cannot take up Engineering courses at the tertiary level ;( 😞
hmm... need go by the wind!
Is she generally strong in Maths and Physics? If not, aiming for Engineering may not be the best for her. If she is can handle Maths, taking Chemistry is also another route to Engineering. Is Engineering her interest? It's best to play to her strengths.

H1 Physics

Must have studied Physics either as Combined Science or Pure Physics at GCE β€˜O’ level and obtained at least a C6

H2 Physics
Obtained at least B3 for GCE β€˜O’ Level Pure Physics or
Obtained at least A2 for GCE β€˜O’ Level Combined Science (Physics)

Nowadays, there are 3 types of Junior Colleges -

- IP JC,
E.g.
(RI, Hwa Chong, Victoria, National, Eunoia, Dunman High, River Valley High ) JC


- Merged JC (after 8 JCs merged into final 4) : namely, (Anderson, Yishun, Meridien, Pioneer) JC

- (Non-IP and Non-Merged JC, called O-level or JAE-affliated JCs )

E.g.
(Nanyang, St Andrew, Catholic, Anglo-Chinese) JC

Nanyang JC : affliated to all Chung Cheng High, JAE students

Catholic JC : affliated to all Catholic mission Secondary school JAE students

St Andrew JC : affliated to all Anglican / Presbyterian mission Secondary school JAE students

Anglo-Chinese JC : affliated to all Methodist mission Secondary school JAE students


May I know, those requirements (subject combination, concerning H1 / H2, stated above ) -
apply to All Junior Colleges in Singapore across the board, or apply only to All the IP-JCs ? Thank you.

Several require Math; and Chemistry OR Physics. These include Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering. However, if you’re weak in Math and Physics, you might want to reconsider studying Engineering.
