gahmen give merdeka package to those born in 1950s.
for those born in 1960s and 1970s, I think we won't get anything because it is presumed many have degrees and don't require support.

it's so stressful because costs of living has gone up by so much.
although I love to go to the supermarket, I find that prices of groceries have gone up.
back to the topic of housing. how are young couples able to afford a 4 room flat? by pushing them to stay in outskirts? even then, flats in SK/punggol/yishun are not cheap either. these couples would be slaves to pay monthly mortgage. when baby comes along and the wife decides to bring up herself instead of depending on infant care or maids, the guy becomes sole breadwinner.

Starting pay for the millennials is much higher now and my sense is that most ladies will continue working post having a baby.

Infrastructure for childcare and working from home has improved a lot and it is now much easier to balance a career as well as childcare.

Yes, prices of many items in the supermarkets hv increased. Example: eggs.
prices of fresh food are expensive...but there is still nutrition, so no choice.
i'm only good at preparing the standard few soups.

If they’re money-wise, as their CPF increases or hv cash to payoff early, it’ll reduce interests. That’s how S’poreans are one country majority of citizens able to own homes. Hongkongers can’t even dream of affording nor rent decent homes & govt hv not been taking care of housing needs. Some of my nephews & nieces bought first HDB then upgrade to Condo when their careers progresses.

flats are in the price range of 2 hundred over thousand for 4 room units and depending on where they are located. not many couples can afford to pay off within 5-10 years.

I think for 2 uni graduates who have been working for a few years, paying off a 4 room flat in a non mature estate within 5 to 10 years is possible. In fact most of my peers went on to buy a second property.
