today's Sunday Times there is an article saying that the famous Hougang muay chee stall :drool: has shifted to Bedok South Ave 3, block 69.

I have not tried the new stall.

I heard that one of the 2 brothers of the original stall is seriously ill. Very unlikely to reopen.

Yes, i like most of the food stalls in bedok hawker centre, its chwee kueh, curry noodles etc.....
wonder will the govt sells the plot of land to pte developers when their lease expires in 2014.....
juz like the plot of land occupied by the bus interchange,
if so, then these old stalls will likely vanish .....

Actually, I wasn't aware of the 3 dishes until I asked them after the filming..

But generally, they enjoyed better business then the other zichar in the region.. and the taste is generally better then the others..

But dishes like friend rice, beehoon etc.. the taste is not consistent.. so maybe it is done by different cooks..

I suppose there is more than 1 cook in the house..

So, to get consistent \"standard\", maybe is it safer to order the more \"exotic\" dishes.. :evil: :evil:

咸蛋蟹,韭菜虾饼,招牌面线。

But don't be mislead by the show thou..

The serving size very miserable.. quite ex.. IMO.. for the crab esp at $25/pc. So small......

ps..

prepare to wait.. if you go there at peak hour ard 6~9pm.. prepare to wait for ~1hr.. esp after the show was aired..

I saw Zhong Qin and Lai Yiling at the coffeeshop 2 weeks ago.. so fast hand fast leg go and order the recommended dishs to try a few days before it went on air.. coz after the show sure super long queue.. :evil: :evil:

But I don’t find it particularly nice leh… True abt the peanut part… lots of it… but the sugar like not finely grounded and can see crystals of it… mebbe that is how MCK suppose to be… I’m not too sure…
