If so, then not much risk in 2CS.

I guess the caveat to this is whether there are some people that were unsuccessful in Parir Ris and/or Bedok that find some of the Tampines schools as their 2CS choice (likely due to logistics).

mikey.p\" post_id=\"2078540\" time=\"1660571185\" user_id=\"199068:

SG_KP1\" post_id=\"2078607\" time=\"1660625874\" user_id=\"188234:[quote=SG_KP1 post_id=2078607 time=1660625874 user_id=188234]Good luck! I would just stay in for Angsana and hope you get it.

There's really not much else to do. Per above, Angsana, Junyuan, and Tampines Primary will ballot based on the 2CS Day 1 applicants. So the choice is ballot for Angsana and if unsuccessful probably get assigned to Tampines North. Or withdraw from Angsana and go for Tampines North in 2CS. Seems to be not much risk...

Do note, there were 291 unsuccessful kids across St Hilda's, Poi Ching, Chongzheng, and Gongshang in 2C. As of yesterday, only 173 kids had registered at the Tampines schools with 2CS vacancy. I think it is possible that the Angsana and Junyuan applicants could go up, as these two schools are probably the closest option for the St. Hilda's and Poi Ching 2C unsuccessful (196 2C unsuccessful across these two schools). But I guess we'll see at 6 pm on Friday (19 Aug). Good luck again :xedfingers:

2CS Numbers are updated again.

Angsana has 66 applicants for 31 spots. Ballot < 1 km, 47% odds.
Junyuan has 70 applicants for 35 spots. Ballot < 1 km, 50% odds.
Tampines Primary has 19 applicants for 5 spots. Ballot < 1 km, 26% odds.

Across these three schools, there are 84 excess applicants, i.e. 84 students will be assigned to a school. Fortunately, East Spring, Tampines North, and Yumin still have a total of 129 spots (Changkat has another 79 spots, although the logistics may not be as easy). Hence, students will likely be assigned to one of these three schools / still relatively nearby. Likely not much risk if you are balloting for one of the three above (probably a closer option for the St Hilda's and Poi Ching 2C unsuccessful).

SG_KP1

Reply to 2022 P1 Registration Exercise for 2023 In-take on Tue, 16 Aug 2022 01:54:24 GMT

sembgal\" post_id=\"2078557\" time=\"1660580453\" user_id=\"5559:

Just shedding some light here for those who wants to know the hidden gems.

Greenwood Primary (located near Admiralty MRT) is one gem. Probably because many parents failed the earlier phases and had to try for Phase 2C.

Copied over from the Tampines thread...

To me, this failures in 2A and 2B cannot be generalized. If someone was > 2 km and failed in 2A (due to fewer seats available), this could put pressure on other schools in 2C < 1 km (i.e. once fail 2A, just take the school nearby your house). The same could be said for some 2B failures 1-2 km or > 2 km.

However, there were also failures in 2B < 1 km due to a) more and more people chasing hot schools and b) reduced seats in 2B (from 50:50 split to 33:67 split). These people are all likely to try again at the same school in 2C < 1 km and would not really be contributing to more balloting at other schools in 2C < 1 km.

The third (potential) factor is more and more people just try for the same schools in 2C because that's what's popular.

SG_KP1
