My niece first got admitted to a first tier JC, then went in and felt the environment too competitive that she would not have time to pursue her outside hobby. So she transferred herself to a second tier JC, still felt the same. At the end, she got herself into a third tier one and stayed happily there.<br /><br />My sis told me she only knew that my niece got her to sign this and that form and kept seeing her changed school uniforms in those initial weeks of JC. <br /><br />Niece was an 'enlightened' one who knew how to study smart to ace her ways in O and A Levels and Uni while playing hard in non-school related activities (did 'selective study' for major exams).<br /><br />As all these kids grew up and started working, I observed their 'happiness index' is similar regardless of whether which JC, Poly, Uni, each graduated from. Salary also seems like 'within range' tho some need to work longer hours coz of the industry that they are in (the finance industry). My sister is a hands off parent. Her boy selected and course and went through the application process by himself. I only did remind her earlier to look into the possibility of dsa like in primary school (and to take note not to miss any deadline, because she really handsoff. More broadly, any job in media, not necessarily just writing, would be possibilities (PR, advertising, marketing etc). Even more broadly, anything that involves words might also be possibilities (publishing, the marketing aspects of libraries/museums/archives, corporate comms, etc). He was top in his cohort (neighbourhood school) for literature in sec 3 and 4. My son said mt nephew has other stuff that boost his portfolio including authoring some web story/novella of some sorts etc. <br /><br />No info because my sister is very hands-off with her boy. Don’t know his level score too because we didn’t ask.</p>

My daughter applied but was not successful.
