Starlight, the classes at CC are usually dirt cheap & already highly subsidized. Unlikely to be further claimable via Skills Future.

CC courses are not usually enough to be considered upgrading in order to get a better job or change lines. They are more for hobbies. Have a look at the Skills Future website.

Ya to take those serious courses, u must be seriously serious about that new career path.

I paid for my own career postgrad course, since I was certain about switching. Then later I found out my new employer (in that new field) was sponsoring my colleagues for the same course - at the price of a 2-year bond. They offered the same to me but I balked at the bond LOL.

I took an online course on Udemy on Drupal 7 (for websites) because I was put in charge of the content of my organisation's website around that time. We have an IT person who takes care of the more techie stuff, but I needed to know how to upload material and do simple editing. I registered during a sale so it only cost about $15! So I have $485 of the original $500, and now $1000 more.

For me, I didn't find anything else interesting or useful to take, though I suppose I should look again. I am happy with what I do, and don't foresee that I will change lines, and I didn't see any useful courses in my line of work. So unless I do find something to take, it looks like my $1000 will remain unused and expire.

I recall SUSS (formerly called SIM) has several Post-grad courses that can use Skills Future credits.

Was looking at some of the courses...many of them looks like rip-offs and lso not like they can help in facilitating a career change.

I agree, some of them look positively dubious and the description is super vague with lots of wishy washy marketing fluff, not much value-add to my life at all. That’s why I asked for any personally recommended ones. Need to find the rare gems haha. Saw some baking courses. And I think car maintenance courses. The worst are those industry courses that cost thousands & the credits only go towards partial payment.
