They'd have to identify a community need and design a product that would serve to meet that need. Students also get a chance to get authentic feedback on their product from relevant experts in the industry (not just their teachers). They will have to learn to present their ideas throughout the programme. The programme culminates in a fair where the better projects are showcased. If not chosen to showcase your project, students will still be able to attend the fair and look at the showcased projects. Outstanding projects can be chosen for the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors' Award.

Of course, caveat is that how much one learns from the programme depends on how much effort and time one devotes to the research, design and presentation.

Serendipity

Reply to Does HAP still exist? on Sat, 01 Feb 2020 01:24:49 GMT

6thisnthat9\" post_id=\"1961472\" time=\"1580516605\" user_id=\"145858:

Thanks Zac's mum for sharing. I believe that boys' peak will come in sec school, cross fingers.

I also suspect not all experienced parents will allow their kids to take up all such progs, can be time consuming and distracting. Just when I wanted kids to be more serious about coming PSLE next year, to start doing some assessment books, not easy to juggle with such distraction and scheduling.
