I have never ask an electrician to show his cert. It is usually thru word of mouth to get an electrician to get the work done.

Installation of a ceiling fan is about $60 ...
Same here.. I go by recommendations and has good record..

I live in a HDB flat, so I believe that we have to use contractors with HDB approval, and I guess certification would be needed. If you live in private property, I think it would still be prudent to get a contractor with some kind of certification.

He changed the tap for us and he told us he can also do electrical stuff. So we have not used him for any electrical works yet.
