I have spoken to my friend who is a formal MOE Secondary school Maths teacher and he is still doing private tuition. He stays at CCK and I will PM you his handphone number. Since he is a MOE registered teacher, his tuition fee may be a slightly high.

It is good for the child to test out the tutor in case it is not a suitable fit for the child. It is mutual assessment for both the child and the tutor. I would say recommendations is the best way to go. At least its tried and tested. People who have found great tutors will stick to them long term. It is tiring to keep shopping around for a suitable tutor at least that is what my students’ parents tell me.
