I think it will be like 30 years ago when only 3 A level subjects were needed and most would do 4 A level subjects and use the best 3. Weaker ones would drop the 4th A level subject in JC2.

Similarly when it became 3H2 1H1, most would still do 4H2 and make the worst H2, a H1. Weaker ones would drop the H2 to H1 in JC2.

So I dont see why human behaviour would change now that it has gone back to the computation used 30 years ago.
Yes, it does feel like its going to back to those days. The only difference is the kids are being forced to a H1 that no one will put their full heart and effort in (if they are already doing 3H2 and 1H1) unless they are are taking it as H2 which may still act as an insurance.

Now with the change in computation score to 3H2 has been implemented, I wonder if majority of the kids will take 4H2 or just 3H2 1H1? Just a sudden thought.

My daughter graduated from EJC last year.

Yup, I would say the school culture/environment is not the cut-throat type. I find my DD’s friends hardworking but not ultra competitive. It is just right for my daughter.

When selecting a school, we need to know our kids’ character. Some thrive in ultra competitive environment, some will wither / suffer anxiety attacks etc.
Wow nice. ur daughter has already graduated from JC. One big hurdle in life cleared!!! Happy for your daughter and you.
