Yukii:Hi!Hi Parents,
May I know what does PAL, MPE, CME, ER and FTGP stand for in the timetable?
Any books to bring for these modules?
TIA!
PAL - I can't quite remember what it stands for, for it's along the lines of participation through active learning. No books to be brought. It's two hours where the kids learn different things through different activities in groups. They can go outdoors to hunt for things.
MPE: Mass Physical Education. The kids usually go for a walk at the beach.
CME: Civics and Moral Education. There's an activity book for this. Usually in the Mother Tongue language. The book should have been given to the teacher last week.
ER: Exploring Reading. There is a book for this. It has the words Exploring Reading on the cover. The kids should have given it to their teachers last week.
FTGP: Form Teacher (G...?) Period. Essentially, if I don't remember wrongly, it's a period where the form teacher teaches them stuff like how to behave. I can't remember whether or not there is an activity book for this subject this year. Have already thrown away my book-list!
Sorry if my info is not quite complete. My elder boy is in P3 now, and I've learned to relax a lot more. I used to be very uptight about not getting him the right books in P1, but now, I've figured that for the non-core subjects, if the kid forgets, the teacher will just tell the kid what to bring next time, so problem solved!

Things usually settle down nicely after a bit, for both the teachers and the pupils. So hang in there, everyone!

No worries, will continue hunting. Heh heh pun intended.
