Agree with Ammonite. Confidence is built when the child sees that she can do it. Better to focus on one subject at a time, or even one section at a time, esp for Maths - work on section A or B first since these are the easier parts.
I used to give different past year Maths papers to DD to do, until I realized that she kept making the same mistakes. So now she just do 2 papers, and then repeats them again until I am sure she really knows the material. DD also misinterpreted the questions. For that I insisted she write down full working even for section A & B, with more words than usually nec for Maths, just so she doesn’t get mixed up.

RE: Where to get small quantity of name cards made?
If you're going to Bras Basah, can check out Ann Print Shop on the 2nd floor also. Rates reasonable for 2 boxes.

RE: Where to get small quantity of name cards made?
There's a place at Peace Centre at Sophia Road that has very good rates for all sorts of printing, biz cards printing, photocopying, esp A3 poster printing. Can't remember the shop name though :nailbite: - it's on the ground floor - they have one unit facing Sophia Road, and another one just inside the entrance of the complex.

RE: Club 2009 Kiddo
Reporting here. DD2 & 3 are Apr 2009 kids.
Thanks to Tamarind’s posts & blog, I started teaching them to read with Peter & Jane when they were 3.5 yrs. Persisted through their initial resistance with lots of encouragement. Now slowly working our way through books 8 & 9. -

Glissade at Bukit Merah Central allows parents to sit through, at least that's what I see for my 5-year old DD's class on weekdaysHi,
Anyone knows which ballet school allows parents to be the room or somewhere that i can be visible to my girl? She loves dancing but she has separation anxiety, she will cry if i were to leave her in a new place with strangers.

Hi Sushigal, can you share which Speeh & Drama cum Creative Writing class that you send your girls to?Reading comes like a habit. Don't need to force just create the right environment. Yes, children have time to read.
Take for eg: my 2nd girl is a special child. Rainbow Magic caught her eyes. Within 2 days, she finishes 9 books.
Both of my girls join Speech & Drama comes with Creative Writing. The teachers there are very positive and they influence my girls with books. As & when the teacher teaches certain character, they shared with us. Immediately, my hubby will order the book for them in London so they can have the copy.
So it boils down to the right teacher who can influence them.
Hope my sharing has helped. -

Hi Jen
The school's name is Glissade Dance Studio. Contact teacher Nicole at 91890812 for class details. It is located at Bukit Merah Central just above the hawker center and beside Kumon on level 3. Can be seen from NTUC as well.
Thanks lonerunner!
