No doubt there are a lot of assessment books out there but most importantly is the answering techniques. The explanations given by some books are just not enough/ incorrect.
From what i gather, must answer to the question specifically and give the concept too.

True, i think it would be wasting resources. Also maybe the school wants all parents to be informed of the whole sch's event, nt just to their own kid's level. U can always go to the school's website regularly to check for announcements. http://www.ncps.moe.edu.sgVillage Girl:
I missed it too. My girl told me this am and i asked her why teacher did not distribute letter.

I think the 'problem' with that circular is that it had quite a number of announcements and with instructions meant for different levels. So have to read it thoroughly. I had to read it twice to ensure that I don't miss anything out...sigh.
Wonder why school doesn't consider customise it for the different levels? Maybe waste of resources (time, money and effort)? -

Grouping of students at P1 seems to be random? And I think they will carry on in the same class with the same form teacher in P2, afterwhich they will be \"streamed\".
To my understanding from a P2 parent, not all classes have the same p1 & p2 teacher, it depends. To me, there are pros and cons to have the same tr. -

My gal is using SPI cos it was on sale. I am not so sure abt the ergo thingy. The bag feels heavy even with only a few books. On 2nd thots, mayb i shd have bought a normal sch bag (w/o those ergo stuff). Trolley bag to me is out. I see kids running and dashing with their trolley bag. Its dangerous plus they sometimes assemble in the new school hall which is on the 2nd level. Imagine ur kid needing to carry the trolley bag up the stairs.

RE: Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts - Kinder Art class
I think 1 of the reason why the intake is so limited cos there is lack of teachers. As it is a professional art school which at the end, a child receives a certificate. The cert and remarkes made by the teachers can be used for DSA in future.
Its not easy to get teachers, let alone pro-art teachers. -

She is enjoying her self everyday. She normally has homework alomost everyday. But at the beginning of term 1, not that much. Maybe want the children to be used to pri sch life first.Hi jslow,
thanks for ur info. Will wait for Mr Koh to update us further.
Btw,hw's ur gal doing in sch?alot of wk given?
The sch emphasis that parents must learn to let go so that the child can be independent. So unlike other schs, PC only allow parents to be in the sch on either day 1 or day 2.
I like that they have dismissal in the classroom and not sit on the parade sq grounds. Some schs have dismissal at parade sq and the children have to sit on the hot ground on really hot days. -

As compared to the private art class that my gal take. Its much cheaper. the private art lessons is $230 for 10 lessons. So would they open up the registration? Somewhere in Nov, Dec? This would for those meany for Age below 7?
Anybody know how much the fees would cost as compare withn those private art school?
Also depending on what u want. NAFA is more variety of art, expression thru art. The private class that she takes is more on skill-based. So far only crayon drawing and painting. -

Hi, my gal is in p1 this yr. Last yr we had 2 orientation. If i can remember, 1 of them is in Nov (during the 1st week of yr end hols) and the other is in end dec.Hi all,
Iam new in here.My gal just gt into PeiChun yesterday in the P2B balloting .Any mummies can update me how the orientation is gg to be like?Only gt the date wc is 29/12/2010 which is quite near to school reopens. What do we do at the orientation?Only gt back the registration form ytd and there's a date to state the orientation date and that's it.Will the school update us again on the orientation? :?
I think the first orientation is more like admin day, fill up pupil data form, giro and dental forms. Buy uniform too.
The last orientation is to get the pupils into their actual class with the form tr and parent volunteer. Parents will be in the hall listening to the P and HODs briefing. The children will be interacting in class and will go canteen to buy food (on their own, but with the tr and parent volunteer).
Nearer to the orientation, the sch will email u abt the details. I think they will also send u something.
