- There were two concurrent tea sessions last Friday at NYGH, one for academic WL and another for CCA CO and small number of CCA WL. I attended the one for CCA. The following are what I heard.
- The total intake next year is 400 and half of them through DSA.
- This year, there were about 900 DSA applicants, half of them were selected for interview.
- 50 WLs were given. For the past few years, all WL were converted to CO at the end. There was no mention of auto-conversion or guarantee.
- Those in the WL are ranked. Those with CCA WL have higher priority, reason being those with academic WL should be able to join the school using PSLE scores even if their WLs are not converted although this is unlikely based on past few years’ experience.
- The school wants diversity. Madam Heng does not want the school filled with top scorers only. She wants the girls to be able to work with others from different background, talents etc. The school gives CO to a few students due to their great character based on recommendation by their principles.
- The school will arrange lessons in December for some of those DSA through CCA and need some help to meet the high academic demand in the school. The lessons are optional.
The 50 WLs consist of both Academic and CCA domains?
