He said that he was super nervous. Forgot words and stumbled many many times. In the end, a teacher stopped him before finishing his sentence. Aiyo~. Praying that he will be calm next week's DSA interview... πŸ™

Babyblissnz, will keep your DS in prayers πŸ™ All the best :rahrah:

[quote=\"2cor41618\"]For those who are on WL , rejected or still anxiously waiting, I find the following words very comforting:

\"For I know the plans I have for you,\" declares the Lord, \" plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.\" Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

God is sovereign, He is in control and He has the best plans for us and our DC. No matter what the outcome, I trust in His divine arrangement :grphug:

Thks, 2Cor41618. I was crushed when my DS said he did the worst-ever oral today. 😒

Think many finds the oral tough, esp the Chinese oral on the 2nd day. :xedfingers:

Let's fix our eyes on what is not yet seen!

Thank you all for the info you shared! :imanangel:

Phew, I have read through the past posts(thks for the links!) and gathered that interview is an individual one with 4 panels, they ask oddball questions, and about 40 COs will be given.

I personally think that it's a battle DS has to be won within but
children/parents might be under lots of stress and see everybody as a competitor. Well, all I can do is not passing unnecessary stress and negative vibes onto him. It's a scary reality that result time is coming and we are put to the test.

Best of luck to you all and may we guide our children well in this stressful time of their lives. :grphug:

My DS is having an interview at NJC next week and asked one of his friends(who has finished NJC interview already) about it - whether group interview or individual, and how many teachers in the room. To his dismay, the friend didn't want to tell him anything....!!

My boy needs to be toughen up and be ready for cutthroat competition. I was taken aback a bit to hear it, as his questions seemed harmless. Are we too naive? πŸ˜“

Thank you all for your valuable input!

Now that I have a bit better understanding of the pesky mums, I think I can handle their curiosity better. It was like the scales fell off from my eyes.

I will also remember where we stand in Singapore (I must say that our kids are not even in your league, though). πŸ˜“

When the things get tougher again, I know where to visit! πŸ˜‰

property value = no, and no need, pricing info are available from URA, be it rental or purchased

CPF = No. It is rude to ask someone's CPF .... really, very rude

taboo -- not many people like to talk about death

private stuff with not so close friends ? No, and depends on your own boundary of being \"private\"
Come to think of it, nobody has ever asked me about my educational background and most of the questions received were somewhat related to kids and prices.
Kids’ test results and school choice - can
      Parents’ academic background – cannot
      How much? – can
      CPF/Assets– cannot

Good to know that people do draw a line rather than firing any questions as they please.

      concern2:

Maybe the parents who persisted to know want to compare how they fair against a foreigner - since our leader(s) think we aren't competent enough so need to attract foreign students to 'boost' our standards? So naturally, you became the target of their comparison and curiosity. \"Hey, I beat that foreigner!\" - or something like that. Anyway, this is just my speculation.
Wow, it is an eye-opening perspective!

I must post a sign saying that OUR SONS ARE NOT YOUR THREATS. WE WILL BE LONG GONE BEFORE COMPETING WITH YOUR CHILDREN FOR A UNI SEAT.
