Thank you all for your advice. We have clarified with HCI, she is not able to take Physics. We will have to stick with Chem and Bio.
My gal has accepted her DSA offer. Hopefully, she will get the subject combinations she wants.
Please share more tips if you have. I am totally clueless about the subjects combi.
Thanks in advanced!

RE: Subject Combination in JC
Is it recommended to take H2 Physics if one didn’t take Physics in O level with below results for Math and Sciences
1) A Math - A1
2) E Math - A1
3) Chem - A1
3) Bio - A2
As my gal has regretted not taking Physics for her ‘O’ level and she feels that it is easier for her to score in Phy as compared to Bio.
She couldn’t opt for tri-science as her sec sch doesn’t offer triple sci + 2 hum so she ended up with double sci + 2 hum for O level. -
RE: * Hwa Chong Institution (HCI) - College
Thank you for the replies. My gal has been offered to HCI JC1 next year via DSA sports but she is concern that her results may not be as good as the rest who goes in via JAE (4 pointers), which may affect her subject combi selection.
She is worried that the subject combi is given priority to better results students (via JAE).
We are considering the offer. Any tips to share on HCI? -

Those students offered with DSA via sports to Year 5 (JC1), how will they offer the options to choose their subject combinations?

RE: DSA for JC/University
phtthp:
Thank you for the details. I used to see the requirement for sports DSA ie: Hockey must be school 1st team and ranking Top 4 in inter-school, Track & Field with personal running time, etc.. But I couldn't find it anymore. Any idea where can I find it?No need.
Once a Junior College offer u a DSA, and u accepted it, after GCE O level results released come out, as long as u can meet the lowest Cut off point of 20 points, can go in.
Eg
ACJC official COP : 10 points
If one's O-level L1R5 next Monday (14 January 2019 ) released is anywhere from 11 to 20 points inclusive, because one had already signed and accepted the DSA contract, one can still enter ACJC, even though exceeded COP 10 points. YES, even if score 20 points, once signed DSA contract, ACJC still got to honour the contract, take u in.
However, if say L1R5 is 21 points, exceeded 20 points, then Sorry, even if one had signed ACJC DSA contract, cannot, because 21 already exceeded the lowest 20 points, to gain admission to Any Junior College.
By the way, ACJC open house is Wed tomorrow (9 January 2019), 1 to 5 pm ?
TIA!
BTW I am going to their open house later. -
RE: DSA for JC/University
I would like to find out the perks for DSA students.
For example, the lowest cut-off point for ACJC is 10 and prior to that, the student has been selected for the DSA programme to ACJC.
So the student must still fulfil the min. cut off point? or is there a privilege cut-off to ACJC? -
RE: JC or Poly?
My daughter is aiming to become a psychiatrist. We are exploring the options to 1) JC or 2) Polytechnic. I understand that she needs to go to medical school and complete her basic degree then she will proceed with her Master Doc degree.
I would like to find out if she opts for Poly route, which course should she take to apply for NUS/NTU Medical program or she should goes into JC to take her ‘A’ level?
TIA! -
