      reallykiasuparents:
Folks, I missed the orientation in Oct as we only managed to register this week. Anyone can share what to look out for in the first week of class?

I received the following e-mail sent from Nursery teacher:

      Hi Parents,

The start of the school term for your child is approaching and we would like to remind you of the items to be placed in your child's bag at all times.

Please note that the teddy bear school bag is part of the school's uniform. Please label ALL items with your child's name.

On your child's 1st day of school, he/she will be given a zip bag. The zip bag serves as a means of communication for placement of letters and notices from us to you, so please do check your child's zip bag daily.

Items to be placed in school bag:
      -Spare change of uniform
      -Undergarment
      -Thin jacket/ cardigan/ sweater
      -Diapers
      -Wet wipes

      -A packet of tissue
      -Plastic bags for soiled clothes
-Zip bag for letters and notices (given on 1st day of school)

Your child will have to wear his/her red P.E. attire for gym starting from 5 February 2015 (Thursday) and thereafter every Thursday.

Please note that the school starts at 8am- 11.15am for the 1st session and 11.30am- 2.45pm for the 2nd session. Please be punctual and send your child directly to the N1 classrooms.

When picking your child up, please note that dismissal will be at the main gate (black gate). Please note that children taking the school buses will be dismissed first, then the children on own transport.

Do take note of your child's start date written on the folder given during the orientation.

Please reply with your child's name as an acknowledgement that you have read and received this email.

Thanks and we shall see you soon!

      Warmest Regards,
      The N1 Teachers

      Same here.

Will immediately check my son handbook once he reaches home. Hopefully, his teacher won't write that my son slept in the class. :xedfingers:

Yes. Anyway, there will be teachers on duty at the bus bay and parents waiting area, ushering the pupils to the hall. You don't have to worry too much. πŸ˜„
      Ha3x... it's really obvious, isn't it?

I think I can sleep now. :snooze:

      Does Pathlight have silent reading?

Yes, they do. The students are expected to do silent reading when they arrive school and go up to the hall in the morning.

      Thanks...

So the students are expected to go to the hall once they reach school, then they do silent reading while waiting. Am I right? I need to remind my son tomorrow.

      Thanks again!

Just a gentle reminder to all new parents: student handbook is a must bring item, do check for updates daily and remember to put it back in your child's bag after checking. Enjoy the learning journey with your child! :boogie:
Gosh! Thanks for letting me know. Initially, I put all the Maths books (for 3A) in my son bag, then I take it out again. I put student handbook, stationery, exercise books and silent reading book in my son's bag.

      Does Pathlight have silent reading?

Happy New Year to all! School reopens tomorrow, all prepared?

Red - for filing English work.
      Yellow - for Math work.
      Green - for Science work.
Blue- for fortnightly student updates. Every 2 weeks, form teacher will give an general update on how your child fare in class, anything from behavior to academics. Subject teachers will also input what is being taught in class and how parents can help. Sign the update and return the file to the teacher on the next day.
Purple - my child didn't have purple file in P3, so not sure what will it be used for in your child's case. Last year in P4, my child used it for filing all Stellar readers, vocabulary lists and spelling lists, as requested by his English teacher.
Just finish packing up things... Thanks again Gisten. Cheers!

      Hi Gisten,

We bought colorful plastic folder such as red, blue, yellow, green, purple. May I know how it’s being used in Pathlight?

Does anybody still send their children for chinese tuition?

If yes, can you recommend one for me? I’d like to engage private tutor that could teach my son Chinese with fun.
