Could it be because they appeal too late, whence most vacancies have been given out? Those 262, 263 acceptance cases appeal immediately after receiving PSLE result?

personally know of one case on 263 appealed on PSLE result day - same afternoon - and received successful reply only on 23 Dec the registration day 4pm. another case was around 27+, got reply almost the next day (30 Nov) after appeal submission.

based on this, it is believed that the appeals are ranked by merit, not by first come first served

I believed the GAT performance played a part in the appeal for score 260 - 265.
So far those that I personally known of appealed successfully - all cleared the GAT and gone into the second round domain test during DSA. A few that appealed after S1 posting score in the same range all unsuccessful.
Hello!

I have scored 258 just 1 mark from RI's COP this year. I am going to appeal to RI. I have recieved prizes in art , public speaking (english and chinese) and have many awards. May i know would i even stand a chance? I have applied for DSA under academic domain and went to the second round would i stand a chance? I really want to get in to RI. I am currently posted to ACSI

Seems to me like RI processes appeal quite strictly based on results. Like I've mentioned earlier, they have approved those quite above COP maybe 262 n above already. I think the queue is in order of the PSLE results and not when you submit your appeal. Of course if there are other outstanding abilities, they will take a look as well. There are still quite a lot of students around 260 pts waiting. You should submit appeal by today and pray hard.

So has anyone receive the response to their appeal to RI??
Those with t-score 265 and above were all informed on 22 Dec and registered together with the rest of the Year 1 cohort yesterday.

That is the difficult part , ie on the reasons. I am not Gd in writing this type of stuff, also should it be focused more on what my son can offer the school? If yes, then die Liao cause he has no good CCas or talents. Is it true that we have no chance at all to appeal to hci since we didn't put it as a first choice?

Don't give up, just try for it! All the best to you and your DS 😄

    • RE: Raffles Institution (Year 1-4)

Could it be due to poor performance in the first round DSA GAT ? What about those who did not apply RI DSA before but DSAed confirmed to another school? Is their appeal considered supp DSA (or 2nd round )?
For mainstream student applying for DSA RI academic domain, they have to sit for GAT first then shortlisted for 2nd round 1/2 day selection test based on the domain they applied. Supp DSA applicants just have to take the GAT…

Quite a number of them got acceptance replies from RI liao, attended briefing already too

Thanks for sharing. That means no chance liao if haven't receive letter 😢 Looks like it's easier to get into RI via S1 posting, even 10 pts clear off their COP is unable to get in :?

      last year COP was 259

those receiving acceptance letters from RI's supp DSA after PSLE result released - scores ranged from 262 to 272
2 boys, scores 265 & 269, both from academic domain were unsuccessful in their 2nd round of DSA selection, however accepted and DSAed into another school. Both still waiting for their reply. Just wondering why the acceptance/rejection letter to all were not sent out at the same time?

Can someone advise what is the no. of places available for supplementary intake(appeal cases) in RI? For those who were rejected by RI in DSA and were accepted by another school. If their T-score is above RI’s COP, does that mean the appeal will be successful?

    • RE: PSLE 2010 Results Report Here

Just wondering how many places will RI set aside for their supplementary intake(appeal cases). And is it as long as their t-score is above their COP will be successful in the appeal? Hope someone can advise.
